If you've been to Langley you would know that it would be an easy task to record all the license numbers of every car entering that facility. Is there any doubt that the Chinese, the Russians and the French do so on a regular basis? And then match up license plates against names?

Hey, you are an interesting person. I have often thought about this very thing. I knew someone in my younger days that used to be sketchy.
There was a bar we used to frequent and this guy was almost always there. He would take bets on games (all year) and do other things.
The point is that this guy once was in an empty bar and some baseball game had just concluded. He knew which team had won. The game was recorded on VHS. The bartender knew, and this guy knew who won and who lost and the score.
Another guy comes in and starts watching the recording. Well, the “bookie” said I’ll bet you 100.00 who’ll win and what the score will be.
So, they did, and of course the bookie made a 100.00.
Now, the Calvinists have a lot of scripture on their side and they, as far as I understand them, believe that since God knows everything already, that if you ask to be saved, God already knew you would. Before you were born.
Well, that has a great deal of merit and I cannot bring an argument against it.
So, while we have free will and we exercise it daily, we are just running out the tape that God has already seen.
It might explain some of the harsher aspects of scripture, or not. But it does mess with one’s head just a little that what we do is already known—no surprises to God. And, what we may agonize over, a death of a loved one, family or friend or the worst a spouse, how we deal with tragedy and what we will do next, God already knows.
As I said at the beginning, and I apologize for the length of my reply, you have had these thoughts as well. That makes you an interesting person.

I am amazed that Obama still garners the loyalty of even very stupid journalists that feel they are sympatico with this celebrity, gay, muslim, marxist, president.

Well, thank ye very kindly. Mrs. Resettozero still shows interest in me so that’s a very good thing.
I go to a Baptist gathering and Calvin is always present if not mentioned. I visit a Wesleyan congregation and the substitute speaker teaches from a book on Arminianism. When I’m with the Presbyterians PCA, I worry not, ‘cause I know it’s all been pre-ordained anyway.
When I drop in on an out-of-the-way Church of God, I love the people to pieces but have to leave early because of the incredibly loud unattenuated tinny sound coming from the two busted speakers.
When I’m invited to Assembly of God locations, they have much more expensive sound systems and plenty of catchers so that I don’t have to run fast and help out.
There are so many Churches of Christ with so many differing requirements that I’m hesitant to visit thinking everyone knows I’m doing something wrong without my knowing what it is. But I truly appreciate the God-given vocal talents of those singers at the Churches of Christ that don’t use a piano or anything else.
Anytime I and Mrs. Resettozero assemble with other Christians for the first time, we anticipate the Spirit of the Lord Jesus Christ and make a point of not participating in any divisive discussions or bringing any Gospel other than the one Paul preached. Sometimes, we are invited back.
As for as this subject of time goes...I believe it is a creation of God’s that exists as a part of or adjacent to eternity. God has some hard and fast rules about time or we would all get deLoreans and try fixing our past mistakes. Satan sure would! Our Father in Heaven also has hard and fast rules about physics including gravity. But He is able to suspend or change these hard and fast rules if He chooses to, perhaps in answer to one of his childrens’ prayers.
So, I found myself with a group of maturing Jesus Freaks at the age of 32 and they pointed out Who The Lord Is and what He had already permanently accomplished for those (me) who believe in Him, follow, and don’t turn back...at a time when I thought erroneously that I had Him pegged in my backwoods Sunday School learning...you know, one of the great Teachers and all that.
May any FReeper who reads my posts and looks quizzically at them...may any such FR reader know that I blame it all on the Charismatics.
