Amid jubilation Saturday over the release of U.S. Army Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl from captivity by the Taliban, senior Republicans on Capitol Hill said they were troubled by the means by which it was accomplished, which was a deal to release five Afghan detainees from the military prison in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba.

Look, this is all about refurbishing Obama's reputation after the VA scandal. Future repercussions of this deal do not matter. All that matters is Obama.

Everyone else here - the POW, his family, the released terrorists, the future victims of the released terrorists - they are all just bit players in the great Obama drama.

>A senior administration official, agreeing to speak on the condition of anonymity to explain the timing of the congressional notification, acknowledged that the law was not followed. When he signed the law last year, Obama issued a signing statement contending that the notification requirement was an unconstitutional infringement on his powers as commander in chief and that he therefore could override it.

If the jive turkey didn't intend to follow the law he shouldn't signed in the first place. Any law abiding congressman or senator refrain allowing any bill to get to this White house. There is no guarantee it would be adhered to by the current president.

Top Republicans on the Senate and House armed services committees went so far as to accuse President Obama of having broken the law, which requires the administration to notify Congress before any transfers from Guantanamo are carried out.

Yeah, what's GOP-e gonna do about it, other than put their underwear on backwards to give King "Man's Country" better access?

Boy, I do not know if “we” can but I sure can and have been.

Laws what laws? This TIC, Traitor is Chief, has always been their and announced from day one where is sympathy lies and this is with the barbarian Muslims.

Odinga, the TIC, will follow the winds of change to make sure his Muzzie brothers get released back into the fight and that all infidels die

No more special meetings in congress. Just arrest, try, convict and when found guilty, execute for being a traitor. Him and all of his administration that have been involved in wrecking America and killing Americans.

Time to bring this to and END, period.

IMO this has gone on long enough and the weeds of America need mowing.

Obama is goading Republicans to impeach so he can play the race card for the November elections.

Dangerous game.

Might be a good time to pull out those quotes from his book and to begin the anti Alinsky ridicule process. Force Obama’s hand to a point where Republicans can hang everything on the rats.

Frowning would be uncharacteristically harsh and could be viewed as racist. My guess is that the Republican leadership will slightly dampen their smiles when bowing to the Dear-Leader and tremble as they pray he doesn’t notice.

I posted this yesterday. I am never disappointed.

Since I have accepted we have a congress unwilling to do their job in holding this POS accountable, and since I accepted that not enough of us actually GAF about the people we elect to elect any with principle, I have made a game of this.

Every morning I look for something more asinine, repulsive and Alice in Wonderland crazy coming out of DC than the day before. And Eevery single day I find something. And so goes my personal Bread and circuses.

I mean why the hell not? A huge chunk of my supposed brethren on the right want to elect more Romneys just so they can say they beat the dems...the very same people refusing to hold this bitch to her actions. I might as well enjoy the ride into collapse as best I can.

Just what is the definition of “High Crimes and Misdemeanors”? If his own administration has admitted a law was broken, then would this be a felony or misdemeanor? If a felony or misdemeanor has been committed, shouldn't law ENFORCEMENT file charges against those who have broken the law? If Obozo himself signed the law and complained that the law he was signing was a usurption of the executive branch powers, yet signed it into law anyhow and then broke that same law a year and a half later, could that statement be used as evidence of intent to break the law? I'm just trying to help you law enforcement folks...come on now, ask some qwershuns. If congress does not hold the president accountable, the rule of law is over. The law only applies to citizens, not oligarchs.

If Bush did what Obaba has done, Bush would be in prison for life, at least.

But Obaba could eat babies on TV and the “Democrats” would still support him lockstep and his mind numbed and gimmie dat base would make excuses and still support him.

The USSA is just another corrupt dictatorship now. Any law the People pass, just gets ash canned by some hack “judge”.

This “Democracy” is gone.

And Amnesty will make sure it stays gone.

My sentiments also.

However the lawlessness of this administration goes back to the first few days. Ask the Chrysler and GM "secured" bondholders. Ask them what happened to the "security" that was supposed to back the bonds they held.

As I remember it, the security was confiscated by the government and given to the UAW et. al. How is that legal?

The “Democrat Party” (aka Fascist Socialists Party) is about as likely to vote to impeach the Criminal In Chief as the Nazi Party of old Germany would have voted to impeach Hitler.

Amnesty will be the final nail in the coffin of the USA.

I am afraid you are correct.

The only way out is to elect as many conservatives to the House and Senate in this election as possible. Then elect a conservative president in 2016 who will appoint judges who can understand the plain language of the constitution.

Good luck with that.

It all shows how politically weak the foundation of our Republic is.

The three branches of government were supposed to keep the system in balance, but the Founders never realized that a fourth Force, Communism, could easily invade and destroy the system.

excerpt from elsewhere:

"What does this tell terrorists, that if you capture a US soldier, you can trade that soldier for five terrorists we've gone after?" said Ted Cruz, the Republican senator from Texas.

"The reason why the US has had the policy for decades of not negotiating with terrorists is because once you start doing it, every other terrorist has an incentive to capture more soldiers."
