Unmasking the Imperial Presidency
Right Side News ^ | 31 May 2014 | Phyllis Schlafly

“Imperial Presidency” perfectly describes what the Obama Administration has become as it increasingly violates the Obama Official Portrait Smilelimits on its power defined by the U.S. Constitution. Criticisms of how President Obama is overstepping his authority are now being heard from all sides of the political spectrum.

A remarkable 33-page report posted on the internet by the Majority Leader of the House, Eric Cantor, proves how imperial the Obama Administration has become. This easy-to-read report, which can be downloaded by anyone from www.majorityleader.gov/TheImperialPresidency/, details dozens of examples of how the current occupant of the White House is exercising powers the Constitution doesn’t give him.

This report accurately explains that “there is no excuse for this continuous disregard of legislative authority and the Constitutionally-required separation of powers.”

Yet President Obama and some Democrats even brag about their Imperial Presidency: “the President has proudly acknowledged that he has acted without Congress, contending that he has no other alternative.”

Examples of Obama overstepping congressional authority include his creation of new laws outside of the legislative process. In direct violation of the fact that the Constitution vests “all” federal legislative powers in Congress, Obama has attempted to impose onerous new global warming regulations on businesses costing billions of dollars and many lost jobs, despite the widespread discrediting of liberal hysteria claiming a global warming crisis

All well and good, but what are the Stupid Party doing to resist the emperor? Methinks the left has infiltrated both parties and there is no true opposition.

The headline should be “fixing the imperial presidency”.

That is, any Republican candidate for POTUS must answer the question: “Should the presidency be reduced in power?”, with a resounding “YES!”

If they don’t, or worse, think they are so special that they can “wield the power correctly”, then they are not fit for the job.

Major ways the power of the president needs to be reduced, and outlawed by congress:

No more presidential signing statements, ‘Czars’, land-snatching proclamations, ridiculous claims of executive privilege, non-recess recess appointments, cabinet officers showing contempt of congress, and the list goes on and on.

Important laws that need restoration include the War Powers Act, and the Posse Comitatus Act. Non-police and non-intelligence agencies should be stripped of weapons and tactical teams.

Sheesh... even Faux News is starting to lie. For the VA scandal, they gave a bureaucratic process to address violations... the same process of appeal managed by the VA.

I was like, WHAT!? This stuff should be on the front burner right into Congress bypassing all this crap in a class action style protest. Nah... just fill the paperwork dying peasants.

Then came the Bergdhal “home coming” bit... I was like OmG.

The phrase "Imperial Presidency" is reserved by the "news" media only for Republican Presidents.

In “Public Opinion,” written in 1921, Walter Lippmann wrote, “Congress is increasingly irrelevant and the presidency is increasingly more powerful.” The more things change, the more they stay the same.

And yet this same majority leader doesn’t force a vote for impeachment.

Hmmmm. I wonder how that could be?

isn’t it amazing how being paid off, blackmailed, or both can prevent a speaker of the house from doing something that is right for America ?

Well, what can the House alone actually do?

Raise hell in hearings is about all

THE MSM is more powerful than the House

Well, what can the House alone actually do?

Hammer away at the unconstitutional behavior of the opposition and every agency under their control.
Repetition of the truth is very effective.

Never let up.

Find a way to impeach.
The wealth of justification for doing so is overwhelming.
Whether the Senate convicts is irrelevant.
The mere necessity of having to discuss it before dismissing it would be damning.
Just think of the debates and the potential filibusters!

Raising hell is better than nothing.
