During a May 11th appearance on ABC's This Week, Secretary of Defense Chuck Hagel said the military's ban on transgender individuals "continually should be reviewed." The Assocated Press reports Hagel did not take a position on whether the ban should be overturned; however, he stressed that "every qualified American who wants to serve our country should have an opportunity if they fit the qualifications and can do it." In 2010 the ban on homosexuals serving openly in the military was lifted, but Hagel says the issue of enlisting transgender individuals is "more complicated." He pointed out that such individuals often need medical attention that they might be unable to get in some locations with the military. San Francisco State University recently calculated that over 15,000 transgender individuals are serving in the military currently. Allyson Robinson, policy director for the LGBT military advocacy group SPART*A, said, "Many of our allies, including the UK, Australia and Israel, allow transgender people to serve with pride and honor in their armed forces. It's time for the U.S. to join them."

Is everybody crazy now???
This guy is an embarrassment to idiots.
Room temp IQ and works for an idiot.
Great combination...inspires confidence.
I'm really beginning to hate this government.
I guess we’re showing Russia that we won’t get pushed around. We’re sending them a REALLY POWERFUL message with this policy.
another last straw
Yes Hagel , this should be done before the next payday ,it’s probably the most important thing the military needs fixed ,D’oh what a useless bleep
‘more complicated’
Does he mean, maybe Bradley Manning as an example?? Oh wait, he goes by Chelsea now, doesn’t he? Obviously Obama wants the transgenders to keep sending money. If this gets shoved through, they should have desk jobs......no way should regular troops have to shower with transgenders.
Hagel’s drinking habits should be reviewed. I seem to remember that Sen. John Tower was denied SecDef because he was thought to be a drunk. Yet Hagel got a pass.
Hagel’s brain cavity should be reviewed. A perfect vacuum could be a useful research tool for science.
Not everyone is crazy, but everyone who works for ozero is obliged to follow his agenda or they are out.
Hagel is a puppet for Baraq Hussein Obama and all that he believes and stands for. Same with every one of his underlings. So basically everything that is destructive to this country originates from the office of the President.
Thanks dimrats and your stinking media for bringing us this national nightmare. Hope it bites you in the rear sometime.
Don’t forget there media, the muzzies who are baraq’s buds hate you also. Interesting times.
He looks like a drunk.
Chuckie wants the Tranny Troops, or the Sissy Squad. I am amazed how fast we are falling apart in the name of getting votes
Can’t we say that the military is fundamentally different from civilianLilian life? And based on that, trans-whatever peoples should not be in the military? Or based on open homosexuality in the military, does the political correctness of our time make it impossible to have that discussion?????
I cannot take this crap anymore.
“Is everybody crazy now???”
I would think that a man who is convinced he is a woman to the point of lopping off a digit would be considered mentally unstable and not fit to serve. Shows what I know...
“During a testy exchange with Hagel, Senator Inhofe asked him why the Iranian foreign ministry supports his nomination:
[T]he people Im quoting right now from Iran people of the Middle East, the Muslim region and North Africa, people of these regions hate America from the bottom of their heart. [Iran] further said Israel is a cancerous tumor in the heart of the Islamic world. They further said Irans warriors are ready and willing to wipe Israel off the map. The question Id like to ask you, and you can answer for the record if youd like, why do you think the Iranian foreign ministry so strongly supports your nomination to be the Secretary of Defense?
I have a difficult enough time with American politics, Senator, Hagel responded with a smirk. I have no idea, but thank you. And Ill be glad to respond further for the record.
In his opening statement to the committee, Chuck Hagel asked to be judged on the entirety of his record, not individual votes or isolated speeches. My overall worldview, Hagel declared, has never changed: that America has and must maintain the strongest military in the world; that we must lead the international community to confront threats and challenges together; and that we must use all tools of American power to protect our citizens and our interests. I believe, and always have, that America must engage not retreat in the world.
The problem Hagel has with his attempt to define himself as a strong advocate of the use of American power to protect the countrys interests and values is that he has repeatedly demonstrated through a series of votes and speeches over an extended period of time the very opposite. He has shown repeatedly a willingness to coddle Iran, which represents in all likelihood the most destabilizing and dangerous obstacle to peace and security today.
Hagels claim in his opening statement that his policy towards the threat of a nuclear-armed Iran is one of prevention, and not one of containment directly contradicts his past endorsement of a containment policy similar to that followed during the Cold War vis-à-vis the Soviet Union. Other than saying that he will follow President Obamas policies, Hagel offered no explanation for the abrupt change in his own thinking or, as some might characterize it, his tactical retreat from his prior controversial positions. It is crucial to understand where Hagel himself is really coming from because his assumptions and biases will inevitably affect the advice that he gives to Obama and the degree to which he supports military preparedness for prevention purposes rather than containment.”

I believe it’s something more than getting votes. I believe it is far worse.
They provide "free" abortions for all women between the ages of 20 and 35 as well. But since they're "God's chosen people" we're not supposed to talk about that.
I can’t either. I believe we are past the point of no return.
I would never dare to speak for God, but my guess He is pretty disgusted.
Why? Is it because a trangender man-woman might be captured by the Taliban and a another Democrat traitor president can pay ransom to get them returned to the U.S.?
