WASHINGTON (CBSDC/AP) — White House aides are accusing soldiers who served with Army Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl are “swift boating” him following his release over the weekend after five years in captivity.
NBC News’ Chuck Todd reported Monday that the White House did not expect this sort of vitriolic backlash exchanging five high-level Taliban members held at Guantanamo Bay for Bergdahl, who left his Army post in 2009 in Afghanistan and was subsequently taken captive.
“They did not expect this backlash on Bergdahl himself,” Todd reported on NBC’s “Today.” I’ve had a few aides describe it to me as we didn’t know that they were going to ‘swift boat’ Bergdahl. And that’s a reference to that political fight back in 2004 over John Kerry’s military service.”

The sorry piece of garbage deserves a nice brick wall and a seven man firing squad for his actions. His actions led to the deaths of several soldiers who were sent looking for his sorry no account @$$. He deserves to be shot. But, of course the DIMOcommies will treat him like Audie Murphy. Like some great war hero. The slime got soldiers killed and five hard line murdering Islamic thus released so his sorry butt could come home to mommie and his Islamic loving daddy. Kerry got three Purple Hearts. One of those was for shooting himself in the butt when he blew up some rice stores.

A Pentagon report clearly indicates that as early as 2010, the Department of Defense knew that Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl had, in fact, deserted his fellow soldiers by walking away from his post.
Calling the proof “incontrovertible,” a Pentagon official detailed that Sgt. Bergdahl was a deserter.
If this is true, this means that the Obama Administration had long known that Sgt. Bergdahl was a deserter and still traded five extremely-dangerous terrorists for the release of a man who deserted his unit.

A Pentagon investigation concluded in 2010 that Army Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl walked away from his unit, and after an initial flurry of searching the military decided not to exert extraordinary efforts to rescue him, according to a former senior defense official who was involved in the matter.
Instead, the U.S. government pursued negotiations to get him back over the following five years of his captivity — a track that led to his release over the weekend.
Bergdahl was being checked and treated Monday at a U.S. military hospital in Germany as questions mounted at home over the swap that resulted in his freedom in exchange for the release of five detainees who were sent to Qatar from the U.S. prison at Guantanamo, Cuba.
Even in the first hours of Bergdahl’s handoff to U.S. special forces in eastern Afghanistan, it was clear this would not be an uncomplicated yellow-ribbon celebration. Five terrorist suspects also walked free, stirring a debate over whether the exchange would heighten the risk of other Americans being snatched as bargaining chips and whether the released detainees — several senior Taliban figures among them — would find their way back to the fight. Questions persisted, too, about the circumstances of Bergdahl’s 2009 capture. Defense Secretary Chuck Hagel declined to comment on earlier reports that the sergeant had walked away from his unit, disillusioned with the war. Such matters “will be dealt with later,” Hagel said.
But the former Pentagon official said it was “incontrovertible” that he walked away from his unit.
The military investigation was broader than a criminal inquiry, this official said, and it didn’t formally accuse Bergdahl of desertion. In interviews, members of his unit portrayed him as a naive, “delusional” person who thought he could help the Afghan people by leaving his army post, the official said.
To what extent Bergdahl may harbor anti-American viewpoints is not yet known; however, if this report is true, the Obama Administration knowingly traded five terrorists for one deserter.
I won’t be surprised if behind the scenes Obama isn’t wondering who keeps setting him up for these falls...I say this because I’m convinced there are players “playing” with BO to keep him in line.

Originally, the story was that the traitor was incommunicado because of his "health." With the release of the Taliban video this morning showing him hale and hearty, another administration lie bites the dust. I'm sure that his sessions are most interesting.
Is this the same White House who left our people to die in Benghazi?
Even IF (and it's a VERY big if, in my opinion) some of the accusations made by those who served with Kerry were exaggerated and/or fabricated, Kerry was running for president of the United States. As a presidential candidate, he had opponents - and these opponents had reasons/motives for wanting to make him look bad.
But there is absolutely positively NO reason for any person (never mind an entire platoon) to lie about this guy.
It’s always tit for tat with leftist, it’s the prism they view politics through. So, now they think THEY are being swift boated. Loyalty, honor, justice, truth and humility...they are outmoded regressive concepts.
I called this in a couple of prior posts. It was obvious that they were going to do this, if you were paying attention.

Do not be surprised if they come out and say Bergdahl was under orders to infiltrate the Taliban. Wait for it!
Hagel said today he doesn’t know the specifics. This is a set up so he can say “We had to wait until he was safely home before we could tell the whole story.”
