A poignant story as he is remembered by family and friends.

Look at the date of this Seminole code talkers death.
The last surviving Seminole code talker, Edmond Harjo (US Army) of the Seminole Nation of Oklahoma, died on March 31, 2014, at the age of 96. Harjo had served as far afield as Normandy and the Battle of Iwo Jima during the war.

Bless you, Hero.
Enjoy your stay in heaven.

He served in both Normandy and Iwo Jima??? If only he had been a crew member on a 8th Air Force B-17 crew too he would have been the only triple crown winner of most dangerous assignments during WWII.

Remember the Army got around a lot, they did most of the fighting and dying in the Pacific, and had to do Africa and Europe.
My dad was Navy but he was in all three theaters during various stages of the war.

He was the last living member of the group. We'd be speaking German without these guys... good men all. May he rest in peace...

When I heard the news from family that our hero had folded tents, I was saddened and heartened at the same time.
When some walk the earth, they do so in beauty. Our friend was such a man.
