My Swiss grandfather saw war coming to Europe, so he sent his only child (a daughter) to a Swiss friend's ranch in Cuba. (Friend's name—Walter Uttinger). That would make her about 21 when she happened to visit Florida—and met my US Navy PBY-pilot Dad. :)

Both are gone now, my Dad (97) passed away on Monday—perhaps leading me to find some comfort in these personal observations here.
