A 911 call made during the attack reveals more gruesome details.

“They’re slinging her all over the street,” the female caller says.

She said that a neighbor was using a pole to get one of the dogs to release Drame, but the animal had her by the face.

“There’s blood all over,” said the caller, who added that a third dog was chasing neighbors down the street.

Charges may be filed against the dogs’ owners, depending upon Drame’s recovery.

Is that the standard by which we measure crime?

I think its a matter of what they will charge them with, murder or something less.

The child is in a medically induced coma.

What's that old saying? Isn't it "the exception proves the rule?"

The dog had her by the face so the dog pulled her skin off, they broke her jaw, her tongue is gone,” Leslie McElrath Jr., the girl’s grandfather, told WLWT

No way I am watching that. Glad the police shot and killed the dogs. Some dogs just need killing.

Ok, maybe I’m confused...err, not really...

The cops do their job by killing vicious animals attacking a little girl...

So it’s the other end of the moral equivalent for cops shooting dogs for apparently no good reason...

Well, that makes sense.

But the article doesn't say anything like -- "We haven't decided what to charge them with; we need to see if the victim survives or not".

The article says "Charges may be filed" but goes on to say "it depends".

That's saying a different thing.

My grandson is a dog lover and owns three dogs himself. When he was on a call he had to shoot a dog that was attacking him. He hated to do it but it had to be done. It is not always done out of cruelty.

You can’t see that much action accept the officers standing around looking down at the child. This is from a distance of maybe 15 or 20 feet away where the sqaud car was parked. At the very least, the owner should be fined and needs to lose the right to be a dog owner for a set amount of years. The life this girl would’ve had is over. If she survives, it will be a long, painstaking process, but it is possible.

The child had her tongue bitten away. If she is not brain damaged from concussions, there will no doubt be severe emotional trauma for her and her family. If I were the parent, I would make plans to move as soon as the child stablized. If I stayed in that same neighborhood after what some careless person allowed their wild beasts to do to my child, I may be able to compartmentalize my rage, but it would always be in the front of my mind when I saw that neighbor or their car or their dogs. Not a healthy attitude to harbor when all you really need is peace and quiet.

The poor child was mauled, jaw broken, facial skin gone, tongue ripped out. She is in a medically-induced coma and in critical but stable condition.

But you have to watch the video in order to find out that this attack was indeed by the Gentile breed of loving dog called a Pit-Bul. As if it wasn’t obvious already. But I didn’t find that fact in the written account at all. This video is mostly from the news team, and does not show the injured child.

Just because one or two are justified doesn’t excuse the ones that aren’t.

The dog-lover-excuse-every-breed-cause-it’s-really-the-owner/victim/societie’s fault poster has yet to appear here... Bottom line: if you have a breed of dog that has notorious potential for harming innocents and you allow that dog to escape into the general population pray that I’m not on the jury.

I don’t understand.... Who ever thought that cops never shoot mad dogs? Did you actually think that? Or think that a fair number of people did? Cops get treated fairly here. When they shoot a puppy, I’ll raise hell. Don’t give a rat’s ass how it makes a cop feel if I do either.
