Gov. Rick Perry Believes That Homosexuality Is Like Alcoholism And Can Be Treated
Politics USA ^ | 06/12/2014 | By: Justin Baragona

Republican Texas Governor Rick Perry addressed the Commonwealth Club of California Wednesday night. The former Presidential candidate, who is thinking about running again in 2016, spoke to the crowd in San Francisco about a variety of topics, ranging from climate change to House Majority Leader Eric Cantor’s recent primary loss. However, he shocked the crowd, and perhaps put the final nail in the coffin of his Presidential ambitions, when he compared homosexuals to alcoholics and suggested that gays should just refrain from homosexual activity, much like an alcoholic should not drink.

Perry was on stage being interviewed by the Commonwealth Club’s Greg Dalton. During the interview, the Texas GOP’s official platform was brought up, which includes the widely-discredited practice of reparative therapy for gays. This is where a gay or lesbian person is taught, typically by a ‘person of faith,’ to reject and repress homosexual impulses and embrace heterosexuality.

Perry said he was unsure if the therapy worked when an audience member asked Perry if the therapy works . Dalton then followed up by asking Perry if he thought homosexuality was a disorder. Perry answered with the following:

“Whether or not you feel compelled to follow a particular lifestyle or not, you have the ability to decide not to do that. I may have the genetic coding that I’m inclined to be an alcoholic, but I have the desire not to do that, and I look at the homosexual issue the same way.”

“Good governor, I suppose, but he’s not Presidential timbre.”

He is a good Governor, While Obama has been inventing ways to send our Jobs and industry’s overseas Perry has been poaching industry’s and jobs for Texas left and right.

I hear now Perry is close to even convening Tesla to move to Texas. A Car company that struggles to find a market outside of Government subsidence, and has historically had trouble even doing business in States like Texas.

http://www.latinpost.com/articles/14667/20140612/tesla-motos-rick-perry-texas-governor-woos-electric-car-company.htm

Of course Perry has already Poached other major company like Toyota
http://www.businessweek.com/ap/2014-04-30/toyota-move-gives-perry-win-for-possible-16-run

Texas thriving because Perry has been doing everything Obama was doing just in reverse, and with some level of competent. Unfortunately such a sudden and dramatic shift is not generally politically possible. The truth is people like Perry are too good for Washington.
Most of these united States don’t deserve a leader like Perry, just as they can’t look bast their own bigotry against the way a man talks, or the way he worships God to see him for his results. Obama Proved that for much of our population pretty words and “politically correct” values are more important than actual results or proven experience nether of which Obama has ever had a shred of.

Fools like that don’t deserve the property or freedom they have been losing under Obama, and thus they also don’t deserve Perry.

I don't support a non answer, but I would have suggested to him to say this is simply not a federal government issue.

I know a couple of gay folks and have never talked to them seriously about their cravings or behavior. I'm not gay, so I don't and can't understand it. When I look at it from the straight point of view I think it's possibly somewhat like any other acquired taste or habit, but more so. Some men are attracted to different sizes and shapes of women, or different hair colors, why, I don't know. Can they be changed with counseling? I don't know about that either.

GOOD!

I hope that the sodomites and buggery boys cried and screamed about it, too!

Homosexuality is a SPIRITUAL issue. It’s demonic. You can’t cure spiritual realm problems with medicine/therapy.

I believe and I have seen—that some—a percent of Gays—can change.

I have the book. It's Homosexuality by Irving Bieber (former U of H psych professor), who researched homosexuality, its etiology and treatability over several years in the 50's and early 60's. His work is now verboten and virtually banned by the infamous Division 44 of the American Psychological Ass'n., which has arrogated to itself all authority over the subject (in order to suppress dissent from PC).

Bieber's opinion was that about a third of homosexual men are treatable with psychotherapy but many are not. I don't have his breakdown available at the moment.

But his basic finding was "some are, and some are not, 'essentially' homosexual."

"widely-discredited" = PC thugs used its less than 100% success rate as a rationalization for thundering against it and cowing the psychiatric community into compliance.

The gays' political coup against the psych community in 1972 will be recognized 200 years from now as a black day, a huge setback for the profession, in which American professionals endowed with complete freedom of speech allowed themselves to be rolled by a motivated cabal of inmates.

That's why I say that hornet's nest doesn't to be poked.

It doesn't need to be, unless you yourself want to be a man and say what is true, and not be edited or censored by those people.

I’m with you as science is still silent on genetic links for homosexuality. Unfortunately, linkages and traits are almost always misrepresented by the media. It’s really sad the subject cannot be investigated without bias and politics getting in the way.

“he’s trying to get support even in San Francisco...”

I doubt he will get much support in San Fran by slamming the gay community, lol.

I don’t dislike Perry at all. He’s done a pretty good job, imho. But a person can get away with saying things in Texas that may not play well in other areas.

Heck, Rick...just don’t even go there.

Indeed, it takes real guts for Perry to say that and I agree, dear brother in Christ, he would be infinitely better as President than any of those.

For as long as physicians were publishing medical data, world wide, homosexuality was diagnosed as a disease. To be sure for years it had a ICD-9 code. 1000s of scholarly articles around the world utilizing twins separated at birth and using other data gave overwelming evidence of the disease nature of homosexuality. It was only after extreme lobbying pressure and behind the scene shenanigans that it was removed as a disease.

I found this explanation from Jacob W. commenting in Yahoo Answers. It gives a very good explanation.

“I don’t know if there was an exact date but it was sometime around 1973. After the Stonewall riots of 1969 in Greenwich Village when homosexuals rioted against the police in New York, a political movement began in some major cities. Things like “Gay Pride” Parades and other demonstrations started. The young Baby Boomers took on pretty much any issue as an excuse to rail against the “establishment” and adopted homosexual activists along with most every other radical cause.

After considerable political pressure, the American Psychiatric Association modified its definition of “sexual deviance” in its Diagnostic and Statistical Manual Of Mental Disorders. But make no mistake, no particular study or data any scientific conclusion led to the change. It was strictly political. So, with the stroke of a pen, the sexually disoriented were mainstreamed. They went from being “patients” to being a protected political class.

There is a lot of confusion because of this. Still, nothing to support the claim and no one seems able to demonstrate what causes homosexuality in some but not others. Still no understanding of the process or impact of molestation as a child etc. This politicization has pretty much retarded any research that isn’t politically correct.

Remember, this was the era when students were taking over universities and feckless administrators were succumbing to the will of the activists. It was an era of brute force, not of enlightenment as it has been romanticized to be. I know. I am old enough to remember quite well.”

“I’m not sure it’s a psychological disorder so much as surrender to spiritual darkness.”

It is both, which is one thing that makes it so difficult to discuss. Shall we call it a loathsome perversion, a disorder, or spiritual depravity? Surely it is all those things.

“I believe it needs to be addressed spiritually.”

Correct, IMO. But also as a psychological disorder, induced by trauma.

“And when that spiritual warfare is embarked upon, you’ve got a HUGE fight on your hands”

Guess we better get started then.

Here Governor Rick is absolutely right. The sodomites that actually want to be cured and want God in their life are the ones he’s talking about. There is no hope for the satanist radical homosexual that wants to molest your children.

Spanky Christie signed the law because Spankie has said more than once “born gay, always gay”. Ground control to anyone that might like this fat version of Mittens he’s as liberal as any democrat in politics.

Polyamy will be the next lawsuit from the sodomite nazis. I know of many dyke relationships that involve as many as four or five lesbians, all sleeping together. It’s all about sex with sodomites and nothing else. So the Supreme Court will hear these cases in the near future. Mark it down. And the Supreme Court will rule that it is anyone’s “civil right” to “marry” whoever they feel like “marrying. Just last week a dyke down in Florida “married” a ferris wheel.

I agree with Perry, but frankly these scenes are setups and have been, long before Todd Akin. The M.O. is the same, drag out some explosive social issue and corner a candidate with some nuanced or unexpected twist on the question.

And they keep falling into the trap.
