Which Is the Party of Extremists?
Investor's Business Daily ^ | 06/12/2014 | IBD Staff

Ideology: A Pew study finds the country more polarized than ever, and naturally Republicans are catching the blame. Truth is, it's Democrats who've lurched to extremes.

Evidence of Republicans' shift to the far right is supposed to be found in the defeat of House Majority Leader Eric Cantor, which prompted the New York Times to editorialize that "In GOP, Far Right Is Too Moderate."

Former Clinton adviser Donna Brazile added that "even the candidates who are supposed to be the establishment have been pulled so far to the right by Tea Party challengers that there is no difference in their policies or rhetoric."

This is of a piece with the endless claims about how Ronald Reagan wouldn't be conservative enough for today's Republican Party.

There's not a shred of evidence to support any of this.

How can I be an extremist if what I really want is to be governed by a government faithful to the original constitution with the Bill of Rights extended to cover all Americans regardless of race, creed, color or sex?

How can agreement with Madison be an extreme position?

“How can agreement with Madison be an extreme position?”

Because it’s an extreme opposite to Leninism.

IMHO

“How can agreement with Madison be an extreme position?”

This is another successful assault on our language by the Progressives. I agree with the principals that our country was founded on, the notions of personal liberty and small localized governance that made America great. Thus I am a “Far-Right Extremist”. (It would seem that I’m also a racist to boot!)

Why is it standard with the MSM to have conservatives and libertarians judged by liberals? It implies liberals are the judge and jury and we must appease them. I'm sick of it!

They are not just judge and jury... they can be so much more - they can be executioners as well.

if you are moving radically to the left than the middle looks like far right... got it. Is the TEA PARTY far right? No, they simply say we are taxed enough already...T E A.. HOWEVER, THE LIBTARD MEDIA AND THE RHINOS BOTH FEAR THEM BECAUSE THEY WILL SUFFER A LOSS OF POWER WHEN THE PEOPLE ARE TRULY REPRESENTED.

Besides, the mainstream media is now nothing but the libtard pravda equivalent, so it has ZERO credibility. Have you ever seen a LOGICAL ARGUMENT coming from the left... it’s usually an emotional attack, a straw man, or categorizing or divisive statement designed to ATTACK... Both parties NO LONGER REPRESENT THE AMERICAN PEOPLE. So if the people are smart they will find and vote for candidates who do, regardless of party.

The Libtards are TAX AND SPEND BIG GOVERNMENT BIG BROTHER. The REPUBLICANS ARE FOR HUGE CORPORATIONS AND HAVE LOST THEIR BASIC PRINCIPLES AND ARE WILLING TO HORSE TRADE FOR THEIR CORPORATE CLIENTS... No one represents the middle class anymore.

In talking with liberals, want to stop this line of reasoning dead in its tracks?

Ask them to name a half-dozen extreme leftists, and see what they say.

JFK = far right extremist

1) Military veteran ran on a platform of increasing military spending to reduce the “missle gap” with the Soviet Union
2) Cut taxes to stimulate the economy
3) Life member of the NRA
4) Anti-communist

"Which Is the Party of Extremists?"

They're all corrupt (the real issue). And at each mention of corruption, they show their vanity by insolently smirking and bragging, "There's corruption everywhere."
