Chelsea Clinton once earned an annual salary of $600,000 at NBC News, POLITICO‘s Dylan Byers and Maggie Haberman revealed on Friday via sources with knowledge.
Their report reads:
Clinton, who joined NBC News as a “special correspondent” in November 2011, was up for renewal or non-renewal this year. Instead, the sources said, the network decided to keep her on the payroll on a month-to-month basis so that the two parties could sever ties if Clinton’s mother, Hillary, runs for president.
[...] As special correspondent, Clinton worked on service-related feature assignments for NBC’s “Rock Center with Brian Williams” until the show’s cancellation in June 2013. Clinton has since worked on packages for NBC Nightly News.
In the media world, $600k is a large salary compared to what some high-level editors and producers make annually. As Reason‘s Matt Welch pointed out, Clinton’s six-figure salary amounted to a higher amount than what former New York Times executive editor Jill Abramson ($475,000) and her predecessor Bill Keller ($559,000) made. Can I ask a stupid question? What sources with knowledge leaked this information to the media? Why did they do it, and why did they do it now? This is not exactly flattering to the Clintons to have this public knowledge.

You’re right. Jill Abramson was a skilled professional propagandist. I’m not sure what Chelsea Clinton is besides Hillary’s daughter.
To be fair, $600 K is a pittance in elite circles she’s used to running in.
She was probably insulted when they suggested that salary.

When Obama became an Illinois state legislator in 2005, Michelle was given a job of little-to-nada work at the (leftist) University of Chicago's medical center. Her wages of sin was $317k per annum. She just had to show up once in a while and look like she was actually accomplishing something.
Then when Mr. Obama went to Washington as Senator Obama, one of the first things he did was to see to it that the medical center received one million dollars of federal taxpayers' dollars as an earmark.
Interesting, too, is that when Moochelle also moved on up to bigger and better things, her "vital" job at the U of C medical center was quickly and quietly eliminated, never to be resurrected again.
That's how it works, folks. Didn't take long for Chelsea to ease right into the old tried-and-true political nepotism/corruption template, did it!!!

I'd bet it's somebody in the NBC organization that is p*ssed about her getting 600 grand for showing up a few days a month.
Chelsea, and Huma, get paid a lot to work for the Clinton Global Initiative. Whatever the hell that is. The money supposedly comes from donors. I say it comes from bribers. As for nbc, anyone who owns stock in that company is a fool.

Comcast (NBC’s owner) makes so much money from the cable tv biz that the NBC budgets are pretty inconsequential. It’s crony capitalism at its finest.

"The Clinton Snow-Bull Initiative" is what it SHOULD be called, of course. It's a Foundation, the sort of Foundation which really does show a great deal of 'initiative' on part of its founders.
These phoney foundations like the one started by ole Bubba hisself operate under the cover of law but are, in actuality, just variations of upper-class money-making/money laundering entities set up and run by American millionaires, millionaire families and/or millionaire heirs during the past century or more under the guise of doing good works and supporting other "charities".
While some foundations actually DO a lot of good, the original philanthropic idea is now routinely corrupted by a new breed of slick entrepeneurs who have found a way to keep their money in their own pockets and in their own families while alive, to eventually leave undiminished fortunes to their heirs, and to live the lush life in the meantime without the government, mainly the IRS, breathing down their necks.
Bill Clinton isn't referred to as "Slick Willie" for nothing.
Looking ahead, the SECOND thing the Obamas will do upon leaving the White Hut will be to create a family "Foundation" and start raising millions in donations for it, and start paying themselves lush salaries and benefits from it, and start traveling the world on expense-paid vacations from it, ostensibly traveling gratis to raise millions for it....wait !!!....that's how this sentence started, in other words, they have discovered how to establish a lucrative circular-acquiring squad.
It's kinda like discovering perpetual motion.
The FIRST thing the Obamas will do upon vacating the White House is the filing of a divorce suit....which, like in the case of the Clintons, means never consumating the split.
Just stay married, go your own ways except for business meetings, because why divvie up assets, dismantle the circular-acquiring squad, deal with alimony and discovery and all that crud when a lifetime income with benefits from a perfectly-intact foundation is much more lucrative than Splitsville.
Do the math with these people....always. Environmentalism is their religion, but money is their god!
