Most Indonesian muzzies are Sunnis, so I’ll guess he attended a Sunni madrissa. He’s definitely in the bag with the Saudis. Recall he almost bumped his head one-to-one to them.
Irony is, he’s helped Iran do what they could not do when the Ba’athists were in power: Iran’s special forces are moving about freely in the northwest of Iraq.
Good old Barry, always screwing things up, even for his Wahhabi overlords now that the Shiites are involved. Another dazzling foreign policy disaster for the Won. If there’s a way in any given situation to screw the pooch, Obama & Co. find it.

Remember - Jarrett was born in Tehran.

This is a huge mess, and many people are going to be killed and injured.

I think the A-10 has gotten a reprieve for a year. I know it’s not much but we are working on keeping it in use and not on the scrap heap.

So, who’s side are we on—the side of the Eyeranian-Syrian-North-Korean-Russian-Chinese coalition (Shiite) or the side of the Saudis, Kurds, Afghans, Africans, Indonesians and Pakis (Sunni)?

Let’s just get all gooshy and friendly and be on both sides. Maybe they’ll all fight so effectively, that both sides will win. Why aren’t our leaders sending more weapons to ‘em?

"Do you mean the A-10 the Air Force just killed?"

We got rid of 'em all, just like we got ride of all of the B-1s and nukes. No F-22s, and the F-35s are all junk. And the ABM defense systems don't work! We're defenseless!

[Load of irony and humor there.]

Politicians, have our U.S. forces nuke Eyeran, and give credit for the deed to Italy.

Thank-you. Strangely enough our senators MCCain and Flake seem indifferent to the plight of our best support aircraft, but our democratic representative and Kelly Ayotte seem to in the court of at least keeping the A10 at least until there is something to replace it.

Four horsemen;

The first is conquest;

The second is war;

The third is famine;

And the forth is death.

We've had the first of four Blood Moons, are we seeing any conquests suddenly happening around the world?

... You would think that with ISIS on a route pushing south on any of the MSR’s .... they are a big enough target on the ground of a featureless desert to pave the MSR into a red highway of death with the help of airborne units raining hellfire upon them. But then again maybe their testosterone mandates that they only fight ground battles and hand to hand combat to qualify for entry into paradise or something. Something us westerners wouldn’t understand.

Basically, they're being supported by Iraqi Sunni groups.

Whoever they defer to as being in command is the defacto leader - until such time as the various "support groups" decide that it's time for their specific interests to be taken care of. It could turn into an even bigger mess.

How much did the element of surprise contribute to the failure of the Iraqi military in the first few days??

The question I have in all of this is who's funding these militants? In the photos they have similar late model trucks, guns, uniforms after a fashion, ammo, supplies, RPG's. War is expensive, even guerilla war. Who is paying for all of this? That's what I want to know.

And I suspect it's the Saudis, the Russians or the Chinese. Who else has the money, and who else would benefit?

And Zero and his team probably aren't smart enough to ask that very simple question.

In my opinion, they weren’t surprised. They were Sunni forces and they supported ISIS, so they threw down their weapons. Maliki has systematically been purging Sunnis from the government. His Shi’ites will begin to fight when the Sunni army closes in on Sunni territory.

Iraq will then have a 3 part dividing: Kurdish, Sunni, and Shia regions of the country.

I would bet it’s the Saudi princes.

Since they originated in the Syrian war, then the US and Europeans probably issued them their original weapons.

Although there was a hint in the article, the territory now controlled extends from what was once Syria into what was once Iraq.

The artificial lines between Syria and Iraq established by British and French diplomats have been erased.

The Sunni tribal areas are united and restored
