Up to this point the Democrats have had a secret club handshake. They could talk middle-of-the-road but everybody on the inside understood they meant to be on the left of center. Now they must talk left-of-center too. That won’t play well with the middle-roaders who swing elections one way or the other. That is doubtless why Cuomo didn’t want to be on record with outright Marxist positions.
Why would anyone (including Democrats) want to have a convention in Brooklyn? (Except for dopey de Blasio of course.)

From what I’ve heard, parts of Brooklyn have become gentrified. The young up and comers who can’t afford Manhattan’s rents have transformed neighborhoods.

I doubt that... how many are simply pissed he hasn’t gone far enough? He was just elected a few months ago... do we really think he wouldn’t win again up there?
Of course, the Marxist-Leninist analysis is false, and their program is ruinous - but the next big breakout national movement/candidate will address this issue in a big way. He/she will synthesize seeming opposites and form a new majority.

IIRC, ~27% of the registered voters in the combined 5 boroughs bothered to vote in that election.
He is seeking to create more racial, economic, and political divisiveness, right according to the Commie playbook. He has totally screwed the teachers over, and I await to see his attempt to do the same to the police and firemen, although THEIR union leaders have stones which the teachers union "leader" utterly lacks.
It is very telling that his first campaign was to retire the carriage horses, depriving their owners of a livelihood, condemning the horses he purports to care about to the slaughterhouse and, what a coincidence, opening up the extremely valuable property upon which the stables stand to his zillionaire real estate buddies.
Some "man of the people". Frickin' fraud is more like it.

That’s because people are a bit smarter than the media gives them credit for: everybody knows that Obama’s policies are partially responsible for that!~
Even if Gerald Ford wasn't the greatest (and he certainly wasn't), I had the sense to vote for him instead of Jimmuh Carter and it was my first presidential vote. The people in New York voted for someone even worse!
