Breaking news update! Iraqis shut down internet at U.S. Embassy in Baghdad
The Examiner ^ | June 14, 2014 | Susy Raybon

Posted on 06/15/2014 3:51:52 PM PDT by Star Traveler

A three word text was released from inside the Embassy about six hours ago: “Too late Alamo.” That message is open to interpretation.

Just minutes ago news came from within the United States Embassy in Baghdad that the Iraqis have shut down internet service for those barricaded inside. Limited text messages via private cell phones are still coming through.

It is unknown how many of the more than 5,000 U.S. civilians in Baghdad are actually taking refuge inside the embassy compound. NBC war correspondent, Richard Engel reported last night that civilians in and around Baghdad have boarded up residences and businesses.

The embassy lockup is a reminder of when Saddam Hussein invaded Kuwait in August of 1990 and U.S. civilians were held hostage for months, including those from the State Department and Department of Transportation.

This week ISIS terrorists operating in Iraq have toppled Fallujah, Ramadi, Tikrit, and Mosul, robbing the Bank of Mosul for more than $450 million dollars. ISIS leaders now claim they are the richest terror group in the world, topping al Qaeda and Hamas. This militant group has vowed to overrun Baghdad, the nation's capital, and eliminate the Shiite ruling party.

Man, this is flashback time to the 70’s all over again. And I know there are lots of people here that remember what I am talking about. All the lives, limbs and hours to get Vietnam stable, and then the USA/world just sits by and watches the bad guys win.

Silly me. Somehow I always thought we'd never make a mistake like that again. I really feel sorry for the families and the people that gave so much in the mid 2000’s, as I also do for many of my friends that made a similar sacrifice in the mid to late 60’s.

He’s getting really close to Caligula.. only difference is, he will avoid, or outright deny (and/or redirect blame (personal or otherwise))..

AND, I personally don’t think he has IQ above 80 (being generous).. he is a puppet being guided by puppet-masters.

This is my favorite YT of Edwin Starr’ WAR. It uses a guy from the series Ultimate Force who loves M203s.

It’s only SAIGON II if the US govt. comes to their aid. Somehow I think Benghazi II is more like what is really happening. The Saigon airlift was an organized event. Planned military actions on short notice are not the forte of this current commander in chief.

Mental health provision. It's the only way

It's not the one in a million shot it was Friday, when Obama took off for CA in a dire emergency. It would take some decent dems. There are some; they've been out of the loop and silenced. It would take Biden to have some Machiavelli in him.

The thing is, the US is not going to survive much longer with this presidency. Think Tsarnov brothers....there are terrorists in our midst whom the US has welcomed as refugees. There are US citizens getting trained and armed with ISIS in Syria.

The thing is, the dems will be better off if Biden replaces Obama before November. And the mental health provision makes it possible.

I don't think the DC crowd has the guts, leadership, or grasp of how bad things are.

But Shiites are not as willing to die it seems. They prefer long games rather than screaming Allahu Akhbar with a car bomb. The real opposition will be the Quds Force batallions, but only 2 isn’t really that intimidating. Well placed RPG shot while they’re on lunch break is all it’d take.

Apparently Iraq shut down the Internet there ... that many hours ago, and this message came out. It’s definitely a breaking news story. We’ll hear more as the hours pass.

“Question did we not build some state of the art new embassy in Iraq for some obscene amount of money?”

I’ve been trying to find out how many billions that white elephant cost, without success; in any event, wave goodbye as it all swirls down the `nation-building’ rat-hole.
