New York Dem: Illegals Should Have The Right To Vote

New York state Sen. Guestavo Rivera wants to pass legislation to give illegal immigrants the right to vote in local and state elections, Reuters reports.

In terms of the broad benefits available to non-citizens, this bill is the first of its kind in America.

The main objective of the New York Is Home Act, according to Rivera, is to integrate illegal immigrants, who are estranged from participation in civic, economic and political life. The legislation not only gives illegal immigrants the right to vote, but establishes a kind of second-tiered citizenship on a state level, in which illegal immigrants can apply for tuition assistance, health insurance and driver’s and professional licenses, among other benefits.

“It’s mind-boggling,” says Michael Olivas, a professor at the University of Houston Law Center who specializes in immigration law, according to Businessweek. “I don’t believe there’s ever been a serious attempt to codify so many benefits and opportunities.”

But Rivera is confident that his model is right for New York, and right as a model for the rest of the country, although he admits that the bill “certainly will not pass this session,” comparing it to the development of same-sex marriage legislation.

The main objective of the New York Is Home Act, according to Rivera, is to integrate illegal immigrants, who are estranged from participation in civic, economic and political life.

LOL. The main objective of the New York Is Home Act is to generate more votes for Democrats. The Democrats understand that. We Tea Party types understand that. But somehow that obvious truth flies under the radar of the GOPe.

State of NY is already a totalitarian statist cesspool, so letting the aliens vote along with the dead, voters sharing the same name and birthdate at various addresses, and college students who vote in their home towns and in their college towns, shouldn’t be a big deal.

"...Sen. Guestavo Rivera wants to pass legislation to give illegal immigrants the right to vote..."

So, why not just let everybody else in the world vote? What difference does it make?

No, they’ll let the aliens vote and put you in jail, just like Dinesh D’Souza. Count on it.

The main objective of the New York Is Home Act ... is to integrate illegal immigrants, who are estranged from participation in civic, economic and political life.

They're here illegally. They're supposed to be estranged from it.

Sounds like a great place to ship all these kids coming across the border.

Exactly. And we should send absentee ballots to all mexican citizens still residing in mexico but never came here to the united states, legally or illegally. ;-)

Confirmed:

IMHO

Okay, I own property in two different states. Should I be able to vote in state and local elections in both locations? I can’t and could be subject to arrest if I do.

We could send absentee ballots to mexico for the poor mexican citizens who never had the chance to come to the united states, legally or illegally. I mean, we mustn’t disenfranchise them.

Tell them to learn English. Why should our police have to learn a second language. Disgusting.

So if every freeper and tea party member in the country requested an absentee ballot from New York, we could all vote there. Hmmm.
