So, what is the GOP to do? Walker and Cruz and let Jeb blow in the wind?

To be honest, in all my long life, whatever a president did had no effect on my personal life. None.

The ONLY time I really ever cared about ANY candidate was when Arnold Schwarzenegger ran for California governor.

Arnold Schwarzenegger (German: born July 30, 1947) is an Austrian-born American actor, film producer, businessman, investor, writer, philanthropist, former professional bodybuilder and politician.
Schwarzenegger served two terms as the 38th Governor of California from 2003 until 2011.

I LOVED it.

Hah! Watch us all stay home.

And then the Pollyanna Republicans will blame conservatives for the Democrat winning. Of course, they do that anyway instead of trying to learn from their mistakes.

The Bush haters offer no alternative.

Good grief - thinking yet another RINO candidate isn't good for conservative ideals doesn't make one a "Bush hater". And we all know who the alternatives are, don't you?

But just to be clear, in this conservative household we're not interested in a RINO candidate, whether their name is Bush, Romney, or Christie.

Yes he would be. He would melt into the beltway ooze and the guy who ran during the campaign would never be seen or heard from again.

I agree. H just hope the GOP has learned form its past mistakes (Dole, McCain, Romney, etc) and puts up a serious contender. The people in this country have no desire to elect another Bush and I can't say I blame them.

I thought the latest “poll” had Slick Willie’s wife up 137.83% to Bush’s 2.4874%.

Advance the government agenda, which is what it always does.

Walker is pro-amnesty.

And this president, as well as the last president most certainly affected your life and my life.

We were free.

We are no longer free.

John Roberts was nominated by GWB. Both are republicans. Roberts has affected your personal life, and by extension, so did the man who appointed him.

Obama has also affected your personal life, because he is a naked Marxist and is openly destroying this country as fast as he can.

So your claim is false.

Schwarzenegger was also a complete, utter and total failure as leader.

Sadly a great many people in this country aren’t very smart, and seem to have no idea about politics or history or strategy or anything else for that matter.

We are going to pay a price, and it’s going to be heavy.

There is no solution to where we are going.

"The GOP is the enemy of America."

And who is your preference?

My preference is the GOP to move right, and that will fail to happen as long as liberals in the GOP keep winning.

If that means voting a TRUE preference, a limited government Christian conservative like Cruz or Palin who stands FOR cutting back government, or if it means voting for a no-name third-party candidate knowing full well the candidate will lose, that is how I will vote. I will vote for my preference and in actual functional terms, of realistic achievements, I am voting to weaken the mandate of whichever collectivist leftist wins, the Republican or the Democrat; there is zero appreciable difference in end results.

My preference is for liberals to be weak.

Your preference is apparently to keep the Republican party turning left, because that is certainly what happens when liberal Republicans win, primary or general.

Nuts to you.

And you will vote for your preference, which you wrongly perceive as being "against" the Democrat.

News for ya, oldbrowser and cloudmountain no matter how much you wish it wasn't so, no matter how much you protest, no matter how much you pretend otherwise ...

... voting "against" is pretend. Voting "against" is in your imagination. There is no place on your or my ballot to vote "against" the Democrat presidential candidate, not a single one.

There is ONLY a place to vote for a different candidate. The only way you can vote "against" is to vote for something else.

Voting "against" loses even when it wins.

It was a hard choice. But hillary gave me the confidence I needed theough her best seller. Later I swam to France from the Cliffs of Dover for a Baugette and cake. On a pony.

Of course. Being a pony myself, what else would you expect?. Sheep? I’m no GOP southern politician in a tight Primary race you know and I greatly resent the insinuation! ;)

Excellent post.

The problem with people such as these, at least as I see it, is that they have been lied to, and they believe those lies.

So much so that those lies are in fact their belief system. And if anyone challenges those lies, then they will evoke an angry response.

it reminds me of a hotel maid I once knew when I had evacuated New Orleans for Katrina. She was a simple woman, nice, but simple.

She apparently was victimized by one of those Nigerian scammers who sent her love letters, promised her a castle or whatever if she’ll just empty her bank account and send to him.

She did so, and of course, she was ripped off. And then it happened again, same guy. People told her after she had been ripped off that she was being ripped off again, and she got mad at those people, and then got ripped off again.

This is what happens to those who believe lies, and it becomes a matter of pride that they cannot believe that they were lied to, and then they fall.

And sometimes they take others with them on their fall.
