Rick Perry Getting Ready for a 2016 Presidential Campaign

The Texas Governor has not yet committed to run, but he is boasting about getting his ducks in a row.

Two-and-a-half years after his first campaign for the White House flopped, Texas Governor Rick Perry sounds ready for another run at the presidency. “I’m glad I ran in 2012, as frustrating, as painful and as humbling as that experience was,” Perry told a group of national reporters at a Thursday lunch hosted by the Christian Science Monitor.

“Preparation is the single most important lesson that I learned out of that process,” he said. “Over the last 18 months, I’ve focused on being substantially better prepared. Please don’t take that as an indication that I’ve made a decision that I’m going to run or not—but if I do make that decision, I will be prepared.”

A waste of his time and money. Not a good choice.

Yes, Perry is fake, but he has many fooled.

Here we go again, trashing one of our own. Keep it up and we fools (except you of course) will be enjoying 8 years of Hillary.

Time to switch to Cruz control.

Your reasoning is why we lost with McLame and Mormonite Romney.

We should NOT support a RINO who WAS THE TEXAS CAMPAIGN MANAGER FOR AL GORE before switching parties (in 1988).

Saying a word against a RINO now is “supporting” Hillary?

WHY NOT RUN A REAL CONSERVATIVE.

THEY WILL WIN.

Conservatives didn’t turn out in large numbers for McCain or Romney. They won’t turn out for Perry either.

If the GOP-E runs another liberal, then we will have 8 years of Hillary. Their choice. It's pretty well proven at this point that the base won't vote for a liberal candidate.

I hope Perry can make a Good run. He would make a wonderful president. But I don’t think this country is worthy of Christian men like Perry right after the evil plague that was Obama.

Your not going to get anywhere by denying that people can change. Perry has done alright for Texas.

“I don’t know why he doesn’t run for a Senate Seat in Texas. He would make a horrid President.”

He makes a fine governor and its basically the same kind of executive job, at least its suppose to be when your following the law rather than breaking it like Obama.

Are you from Texas?

Were you asleep when he kept insisting that we vaccinate our 12 year old girls for a sexually transmitted disease?

Or the 6 year fight to stop him from taking lands from private citizens, selling to a Spanish company to build the “Trans Texas Corridor” for NAFTA traffic and charge Texans to drive on it?

Or numerous crony appointments / relatives in lobbying?

THIS WAS AFTER he changed from DEM to REP (post running the Texas GORE campaign in ‘88).

Sounds like a BIG GOVERNMENT GUY before and after.

Don’t confuse Bluster with Action.

In Texsas we call a guy like Perry “All Hat, No Cattle”

Yes, we could do far worse than Governor Perry. And he has executive experience which is a huge plus in my book.

I would have no problem at all casting my vote for him.

Yes, I remember. Liberal tendencies lie beneath the surface with Perry. Perry is benefitting from Texas’ record, not the other way around. The governor is NOT the most powerful man in our state.

You have absolutely no friggin clue what you are talking about.

As a Texan, I will NOT be voting for Perry for anything. Ever.

Rick Perry will never be president. Middle road states do not want a guy who plays up the Texan stereotype in the WH. He has a string of gaffes that are decades old.

Perry couldn’t remember the 3 agencies he’d shutdown, if elected (the debate with Romney, and the rest). What was telling about that moment wasn’t that he had a lapse of memory, but it was obvious he was merely providing lip service, pandering, to the conservative audience.

You can Bet Palin or Cruz would know exactly the agencies to get rid of, as it is etched into their DNA, if not crib noted on the palm of the hand . ;)

"Perry couldn’t remember the 3 agencies he’d shutdown"

Perry will never recover from that. Should he be the nominee, the Rats will replay that clip 24/7. Perry had no intention of really shutting down anything because if he did and had thought about it he would been able to answer the question.

Oops.

No 2008 or 2012 has-beens. No Ben "gun control" Carson, Chris "gun control" Christie or Jeb "W part II" Bush either.

Time for new blood.

Was praising Hillary part of that preparation?

No kidding.

No, thanks, La Raza Rick!

Good I have been hoping he would run. We could do a lot worse than Rick Perry. Ted Cruz and Rick Perry are the two best possibilities we have at the moment.

Mitt is itching to get back in it and Jeb will get pushed into it. Not to mention Crispy. We need to be thinking about making sure we have a couple of conservatives or we will end up where we were in Nov 2012.

“Here we go again, trashing one of our own. Keep it up and we fools (except you of course) will be enjoying 8 years of Hillary.”

What makes him one of your own?

Being chairman of the Al Gore campaign in 1988?
Karl Rove recruiting him in 1989?
His opposition to the border fence?
His support of in-state tuition for illegal aliens?

I believe a politician’s past choices are more instructive than whatever it is he claims to be now. It tells you what his instincts are.
