Runoff voter turnout appears to be up (Mississippi)

BILOXI, MS (WLOX) - At the Ocean Springs Civic Center, the lines were long as voters waited to cast their ballots. The turnout surprised some poll workers, like Paula Clifford.

"I am. I'm very surprised at what we've had so far. We've had more people come in and vote this time than we had the last time," Clifford explained.

Voters, like Robert Kline, seem to sense that something big is about to happen, no matter who wins.

"This is very important to our state, picking out the congressman we want to continue, and I just felt like it was a civic duty to do," Kline said.

At the St. Martin Community Center, it's much the same. The parking lot is full. Also full is the roadside curb, full of campaign signs for the two candidates. Jim Sumrall is the Poll Manager here.

He could win as a third party. He gets his votes form the primary, democrats go home to vote for the democrat and poor old Thad is left out in the cold!

Agree. And he wouldn’t have to bow to the GOPe.

Ok. Just asked hubby. I can’t repeat the words in front of the word ‘no’ in polite company.

And I could never live with him if I voted against him so I’ll be voting however he votes.

I have K street friend that I just explained that Thad’s Democrat crossover will cost him the General Election. They better not blame on anyone but themselves this time.

You helped convince me I am correct.

Thx.

He campaigned for dim votes. With dim platitudes.

Black Voter Turnout Is Key to Mississippi Runoff Result

“In downtown Hattiesburg, Miss., a trickle of Democratic voters filtered out of the Court Street United Methodist Church on Tuesday afternoon, saying they had voted for a Republican for the first time in their lives — and all of them had voted for Mr. Cochran.”

That makes me mad as hell. I hope Thad gets what he deserves.

If he’s the republican nominee, I am not a republican.

And, trust me, they will never vote Republican again.

Black voters here are reliably 98% dems.

This scorched earth policy that Barbour et. al have established will cost them. Bigtime.

Check pics he’s posted. Those posters will NOT be forgotten. Neither will the robocalls calling McDaniel a racist for opposing obamacare. I personally got one of those. It was that call that convinced me there was no hope of rehabilitating the MSGOP ever. They are dead to me now.

I believe the GOPe just cost themselves Mississippi and Kentucky. Hate like heck to see the Senate stay in Harry Reid’s hands.

Mississippi Senate - Cochran vs. Childers

Cochran up 17 on Childers. May not need help from McDaniel voters.

You be sure to let those bastards over at the NRSC how you feel when they send you an offer to meet Willard for a donation to the Thad Cochran branch of the Democrat Party.
