The election showed the whole ‘gridlock’ myth and ‘party of No’ is a big con. It’s the Uniparty — both sides in favor of big government.
35,000 Democrats with NO intention of voting for a Republican in the general election were encouraged to break the law (a toothless law but a law) to vote for the RINO.
This shows that the establishment RINOs are essentially no different than the Democrats.

Good heavens, are they so ignorant that they believe everything they see and hear that even has the preponderance of racial overtones? Cochran has accrued pension benefits of 80% of his $174,000 (my recollection of the current salary) salary. 80% is the MAIMUM percentage he can retire at...it won’t be increased by additional years of service.
Cochran WANTED to retire this year and not run for reelection but was CONVINCED by the corrupt Haley Barbour organization and the equally corrupt GOPe organizations to run for reelection. What was he promised to get him to agree with this? My educated guess is that he was promised that if he ran, was reelected and (after a “decent” period) announced his retirement he would be given a HIGHLY COMPENSATED no show and/or minimum work position with a DC lobbyist firm for BOTH him and his Virginia honey.
Then Haley Barbour would engineer the naming of another crony and/or family member to the seat. Meanwhile, Cochran gets his $139,000 yearly pension as well as the huge salaries he and his honey will get for their new DC gigs. Oh...I forgot that his honey will have her pension also in addition to the huge salary from HER no show job.
This is ALL unacceptable to me.
And they’ve now come out with their demands. Quid pro quo in full view of everybody...
A little bit too soon tho. The General election needs to happen. Maybe someone will tell them to stop making their demands cause the voters are reading them.
Not if he loses in November, and I am going to work my ass off to make sure that happens

No. deadline passed long ago. If Cochran died, a write in candidacy is allowed

Notice the top vote getter that night was McDaniel. The ENTIRE Democrat slate didn’t get HALF the votes of EITHER Republican.
I don’t think Cochran will get DEMOCRAT votes in the general election, do you?
McDaniel could repeat what he did on June 3 and be the next Senator from Mississippi

So, MS does not allow write-in candidates and the deadline for running as an Indy has passed...... Then, the only thing left is for all of Chris McDaniel’s supporters to vote for the Democrat in November. Am I right?
His wife, Jill, is a former Miss USA Mississippi winner....she could run, couldn’t she?

thad doesn’t need the NYT telling him what to do. bennie thompson, democrat/communist from Mississippi’s second congressional district was telling ole thad what the democrats expect of him yesterday. The gop-e in Mississippi, the NRSC, our former governor and his nephews with the US chamber of commerce has conspired to elect democrat travis childers to the US senate and this may keep hairy reid in office. They will then say it’s MY FAULT because I wiil not suck it up and vote for the winner of the second democrat primary. It’s time to start over.
The ballot has a place for write-ins but as you state they are not counted however they are recorded as a voter and are reflected in the total, enough of them NOT voting for either cochran or childers could be enough for the rethuglians to lose, still not vote for a progressive democrat and let those who run the rethuglian party of Mississippi and the backstabbers at the rnsc know exactly what happened. Then we would be in a better position in Mississippi to take our Republican party back and after this I don’t believe there’s enough difference in reid and mConnell to make a difference.
Mississippians should join them. Childers is more conservative, albeit barely.
Voting for the Dems just to “show the GOPe” has got to be one of the most foolish and self-defeating things I have ever heard of.
The only thing that matters in DC are the numbers. Right now, the Dems have the majority in the Senate (a very tiny majority, but that’s enough) and that is what is enabling Harry Reid and Obama to get away with what they have been doing. Nothing started to change in the House, either, until we got a majority.
It’s the job of the leaders and whips to corral all the voters of their party and make sure they vote as a bloc. But it doesn’t matter when there aren’t enough of them. For example, not one single GOPer voted for Obamacare - but it didn’t matter, because there weren’t enough GOP votes collectively to make a difference.
I think all legal challenges to Cochran’s election should be pursued, and there should also be criminal consequences for people who knowingly voted in both the Dem and GOP elections (and for the people who encouraged them to do so, knowing that it was illegal). I also think pressure should be put on the local GOP by the emergence of new candidates to oppose some of the corrupt crowd that supported Cochran.
But voting for the Dems is the stupidest, most suicidal response possible to this situation.
