Sen. Thad Cochran’s second-round primary victory may be nullified if Chris McDaniel’s team can show the margin of victory was less than the number of people who wrongly voted in both Democratic and GOP primaries.
“It’s tedious, but it is a simple task [to check and] Mississippi state law is very clear on this,” said Bill Pascoe, a political consultant for Independent Women’s Voice, which backed McDaniel.
Last July, the mayoral election for the state’s fourth largest city, Hattiesburg, was nullified after the losing candidate showed that the 37-vote margin of victory was smaller than the pool of suspect absentee ballots.
Those absentee ballots included 36 that were delivered to the Democratic mayor’s wife, and were later filled out by jail inmates, including a felon who was disbarred from voting.
McDaniel took the first step June 26 to reverse his defeat by asking the Mississippi GOP Chairman Joe Nosef to help McDaniel’s volunteers inspect the so-called “pollbooks.”
Those books record who cast a ballot in the June 3 Democratic primary and in the June 24 Republican primary runoff. If the number of voters have cast ballots in both elections is smaller than Cochran’s margin of victory, Pascoe said, the court will schedule a third election.

Well, OldRanchHand, that even more supports the need for a viable, conservative third party to come to the fore. The notion that conservatives should settle for the GOPe simply because they are closer to conservative values (questionable) than the dhimmicraps is just plain idiotic.

Hearing Chris McDaniel speaking with Beck yesterday, he is no longer concerned about being in politics and all of the back stabbing he has endured in this primary. Just the gloss is off the rose for many voters, it is the same with him.
Kudos to him for standing on principle. As more and more of the unwashed and low information voters on the right get word of what just happened in their name, the backlash will grow just as it is all over this country. Beck said he is finished with the RINO’s and will be doing his level best to counter the jihad coming from Orin Hatch against Mike Lee.
I believe we are witnessing the same deconstruction of the Republican Party as did our forefathers some 7 score and 16 years ago when the Whigs did it to themselves.
One way or the other Cochran must be flushed down the bowl.
If not the Roves, McCains and other traitors will pull this again in other races. THEY MAY HAVEDONE THIS BEFORE IN OTHER CROSSOVER STATES.

Tuesday’s stunt by the GOP(e) will backfire seriously. They have been coy about their dislike of us the Tea Party. Now they have shown what level of corruption they will stoop to, to squelch our voices. They have declared war, and the only solution is formation of a valid, functional 3rd party. This may not be the best for the country, but conservatives have been taken for granted long enough.
This is to all appearances the lowest that the GOP has gone since the Civil War.
If everybody concerned could agree on what that third party will be, this could work.
I’m seeing far too many accusatory attitudes to make the compromises that are going to be necessary to keep such a party, possible — at this time. Barack Obama and the Democrats have a sense for the brinksmanship that stops just short of forcing conservatives into doing something united.
I’d also like to see every ILLEGAL VOTER behind bars. Maybe that would help stop dems from cheating.
