The Democrats' best shot in Mississippi
Politico ^ | June 26, 2014 | ANNA PALMER

Democrats were crossing their fingers that Chris McDaniel would be the Republican nominee in Mississippi.

But since Sen. Thad Cochran has prevailed, they are trying to do the unthinkable — unseat a six-term GOP senator.

McDaniel supporters are irate that Cochran won a GOP primary by reaching across the aisle. Now some of his backers are ambivalent about whether they’ll come out at all in November — and if they don’t, that could create a rare opening for a Democrat here.

I had to go to the site of your post to see your tagline.
Having your party co-opted by those with the same views and same solutions and taking money from the same contributors as your political opponent is not winning but losing it all. The old analogy about boiling frogs is correct but it’s the gop keeping the temperature down so we’ll stay in the pot until we’re cooked. Obviously you don’t understand the competition we’re in.

This same bunch of RINO’s being taunted as our savior for court nominees the next two years were in power in the late 90’s. How many of Clintons judicial nominees did they stop??? Right, and they will surely revert to form and lead like good liberals. Hell they don’t even know what to do when they are in charge except act like liberals.

Big tent, strategic vision, long term, democrats will win, we need to support the nominee etc... all cliches and well worn lines of the Party Boys to get conservatives to support yet another leftist they trot out as their engineered nominee.

Well Party Boys we have done this since 1988, we held our nose and voted for your turds time and time again, in the process the thanks we got? Conservatives got beat up, pushed to the back of the bus, stomped on, told to shut up you are an embarrassment to us, ridiculed, you name it you trashy people did it. Now we say no more and your mad because your slimy gutter tactics may have backfired on you and it’s OUR fault? Tough. You climbed into the democrat bed win with them, after all you expanded the vote...

Question do your Party Boys trash know the difference even between basic right and wrong? I doubt you do or care. No thanks, you wanted to win with democrats, try it in November.

I know you didn’t say that, that’s why I was trying to sway you. I think the best answer is to leave the top of the ticket blank.

That’s what I’m doing with John Cornyn in November if there isn’t a write in.

And yes, I do care, that’s why I gave you my MARVELOUS idea.

RINOs will stall the nomination of pres. Appointees? Didn’t the RINOS give up that right? They signed it away....

What on earth are you talking about? Reid changed the filibuster rules precisely because Republican Senators would slow walking, putting holds on and filibustering Obama's judicial and administrative appointees.

And usually in the last 2 years during a Presidential lame duck, the opposition in the Senate (especially if they control it) does everything they can to stop, block, slow down and otherwise grind to a halt said President's judicial/administrative picks.

A Republican majority leader in the Senate means far fewer of Obama's judicial/administrative nominees get through. Period.

Some people here seem to forget this whole 3rd branch of government thing. It's not just the Executive and Legislative branches that matter, the Judiciary is equally important and until we take the Senate, Obama has free reign to stack the courts with far left judges - especially because Reid changed the filibuster rules.

So what else you got?

That's pretty much all I need right there.

Grow up. We lost one race to a 30+ year incumbent that plays as dirty as can be. You don't throw the baby out with the bathwater because you've got your panties in a bunch. Taking the US Senate is THE most important thing that can come out of 2014.

“Control of the Senate trumps most everything.”

That is exactly my point — and since we can’t be really sure about any of the elections, each seat may be the deciding one.

Don’t ask me “what on earth are you talking about? “ about a widely known issue, then proceed to lecture me on the ins and is outs of the Senate. If the last 2 years, lame duck, ate SO important, then why did the Republicans in the Senate give over the filibuster right?

Stop defending the piece of crap RINOS. They suck as bad as the Democrats.

I guess you and Longbow will have to go out and recruit some democrats to support the GOPE trash you support because your cliche’s are thread bare with conservatives.

The only thing you are advocating is more of the same insanity we have done since 1988, how has that worked out for us? The same same lies and promises, “oh we care about this, will fix it after the next election” just hold your nose and vote for us again.

How did that work out when we controlled Congress and the White House under Bush? The epitome of the very people you are defending to the death to be in charge once again—what did they do? NOTHING. No roll back of liberalism, no cuts in spending, more big government and the conservatives were again told to go to the back of the bus and shut the hell up. Next excuse please.

Do you Party Boys think you have enough $$$ and smear tactics to draw all those fictional conservative democrats into the gop fold? Bet you don’t. A liberal is going to vote for the real thing not the cheap ass crap you keep supporting and braying about.

Adults here? It ain’t you and the GOPE. You are like people are like broken records.

Time to stop the cycle idiocy and let the adults be in charge for a while—conservatives. And if that means you and the gope trash have to take your medicine and forgo your $$$ and power so be it.

You might as well report back to the vichy RNC-gope they screwed the pooch and the lies are not working this time.

Funny, all conservative groups who supported McDaniel agree with me: FreedomWorks, Tea Party Express, Cloub for Growth, Tea Party Patriots, Ted Cruz, etc - it’s time to move on and not help the Dems defeat the GOP while waving the conservative flag.

National supporters leaving McDaniel to his own fate

Article states (no quote because of copyright) that all conservative groups who supported McDaniel accepted the results of the primary.

What are you babbling about "give over the filibuster right"? Harry Reid TOOK IT. Harry Reid changed the rules with a simple majority vote. It's called the "nuclear option". Are you this ignorant of what's been going on? EVERY SINGLE REPUBLICAN, even the most RINO of RINO's opposed this. Unfortunately, this can be done with a pure majority vote, and the Democrats had the majority. Had we won the Senate in 2010 or 2012, this would NOT have happened. If we win the Senate in 2014, Harry Reid no longer has this ability since he will not have a majority any longer.

You simply do not know what you are talking about.

This is because the groups and people you highlighted have a lick of political sense, unlike some of the people here going off half-cocked and blathering about voting for the Democrat.

Of course the vast majority of Republicans/conservatives are going to vote for Cochran - for no other reason than he casts the single most important vote, which is for leader of the Senate, for a Republican and not Harry Reid.

Yes, the big question is whether conservatives/ tea-partyers will stay home in November, proudly cutting off their noses to spite their faces and the country, by letting the Dems continue to control the Senate -- or put the country ahead of their hurt feelings and help the GOP capture the Senate.

Reply to Innovative: OH S**T! HERE WE GO AGAIN! First of all, it's more than hurt feelings. It's total disgust with a political system that has made it possible for power hungry politicians to stay in power forever and build up a money-structure and corrupt system that keeps them in power. And that system tells them, eventually, that they are entitled and anointed for a life-long seat at the table of power and to hell with the people they represnt. And secondly, let me remind you:

Oh give me a break. The GOP already decided that they didn't give a damn about retaking control of the Senate when they decided to take money earmarked for the November election and use it instead to defeat a Republican candidate. The Republican Party has already made it quite plain how they feel about McDaniel supporters. So they should have no expectation whatsoever of getting their support in November.

As for me, Thad Cochran, Mitch McConnell, and all their allies can go straight to hell. They've shown us what they think of Conservatives. And in November, they will find out what Conservatives think of them.

The question is whether the method of putting the country first is to . . .

Don't you get it yet? The Republican Party is not putting the country first. They took money that was donated to defeat Democrats in November and gave that money instead to Democrats in order to defeat a Republican in June. To hell with that. And to hell with you do question our patriotism and our desire for putting this country first which is contrary to what Thad Cochran's puppeteers just did.
