Dick Durbin: Obama to 'borrow' Constitutional power to rule on immigration
Examiner.com ^ | 06/28/14 | Joe Newby

Posted on 06/28/2014 4:18:51 PM PDT by LaybackLenny

If House Republicans do not act on immigration in the way Barack Obama wants soon, then the president will simply "borrow" Congress' legislative powers and unilaterally rule on the issue, bypassing Congress once again, Sen. Dick Durbin, D-Ill., said Thursday.

If Obama "borrows" their power, will the GOPe do something really effective like hold a harsh press conference or maybe even initiate a lawsuit?

That'll show Obama and his lawless cronies over in the Executive Branch!

“.... People need to DEMAND an explanation of this sloppy statement from the Prez ....”

Early in his Presidency, Obama himself came forth with an explanation that the Constitution should be viewed just a set of “recommendations”. Maybe someone have should alerted him to his oath to “Preserve, Protect and Defend the Constitution of the United States”. But the only oath he intended to be faithful to was promise “to fundamentally transform” this country. The way the atom bomb fundamentally transformed Nagasaki, I guess.

Durbin is a perfect example of how arrogant these people have become. They will take as much power as the public lets them take.

Well thank God we elected a lot of lesser evils over they years who stand idly by and let him rule as a king.

Thank god that rather than fight like madmen for people of principle who would have impeached the prick years ago, we took the easy way out, made excuses to anyone who would listen and elected Democrats in GOP clothing ‘no matter what.

Well folks, this is what ‘what’ looks like when all the excuses melt away under the hot lights of reality and you’re left with impotent cowards that, more likely than not, ARE democrats in DC solely to protect Dear Reader.

Valerie Jarrett said that he would be “ready to rule” on his first day in office.

I remember that distinctly. I said at the time that if he did rule that it would invite a high velocity response.

Instead of someone from the “press” asking Durbin about the preposterous statement (I know, I am dreaming) how about someone asking Boehner about this statement? Put him on record, if he dares to question his masters. Then hold him to it, if he actually dares to challenge Der Fuhrer.

It’s time to march on Washington and demand this law breaking to come to a stop. They just don’t know or understand the fear the people of this country have for their future and the disgust we have in our government .

I really fear for our future, how about you?

Wow! When I first read that, I thought it was a satirical Onion article. Truly unbelievable how the Dimwit party sinks to new lows everyday; makes me sick. Especially this President’s running the country like a third-world dictatorship, using the Constitution like it was toilet paper. You gotta admit, Obama is resolute, and will not to be deterred, in fulfilling his promise to fundamentally change the country. I barely recognize it anymore.

The longer I watch so called conservative Republicans enable the growth of the monster our government has become ... the more I see you are, sadly, correct.

The first rule of those in government, regardless of party, is to retain and grow their power ... Constitution be damned.

That's it in a nutshell. The people who run now, for the most part, want power, absolute power, whether for ots own purpose, as with the left, or to feather their nests, as with the Rs.

You only to look back at the last time any politician was tried and convicted of treason to see how far and fast we have fallen. Treason is practiced openly now, without any fear of reprisal or consequences.

A country that does not prosecute treason will not long last.

When you have people still pushing the lesser evil/no matter what crap after what has happened even this week, much less the grand sum of the last few years, those people are either GOP operatives or the stupidest people on the planet.

All they are doing is defending the people protecting Obama’s criminals from being held to account. I wonder when we get to ‘hold feet to the fire’? they told us they were gonna. But instead, they wrap feet in asbestos.

Gee....I wonder why.

I think he’ll have to be removed by force when his term is up, if he doesn’t hang himself first. I’ve had a bad feeling about him since day one - a combination of fear and an odd feeling of recognition. Evil bastard ain’t normal.

What are the odds he’ll ever give up the White House?

I'd say it's about 50/50 now. And if he doesn't, what do we do? The Demonrats won't vote to impeach and remove. Can congress order in marshals to carry him out of the Oval Office?

He has no authority over anyone but the people that give it to him at that point..

Worry more about those that ‘give it to him’. Like the military.

So he expects America to simply stand by while 0bama breaks the Constitution, and stand there to watch while he gives away free money, services, medical care and such all in the name of producing more new Democrat Party voters?

This would be SUCH a transgression of legality that normal people (read - those who work and pay taxes) will rise up and it would be ugly.

Anytime a politician openly advocates for breaking the Constitution they should expect big trouble.

Ass clowns.

Bottom line - this clown isn’t even legally the president since he is guilty of fraudulent concealment (not even a US citizen fer cryin out loud), and “re-elected” by fraud. He ought to be frog-marched out of DC and left on a corner somewhere without his pen and his phone.

"Why shouldn’t Obama borrow the power? The republicans will do nothing in response! I have no reason to believe they will take any action." Please read my post again. The opposition party did not take down Ceaușescu and his wife. The people did. And that is how the Obamas will be removed.

Yep, Ceaușescu and his wife were not removed from power by impeachment, or filing a Boehner lawsuit. The people took the law into their own hands.
