FULL TITLE: Katrina Vanden Heuvel Attacks Bill Kristrol on Iraq War: ‘If You Feel So Strongly...Enlist In The Iraqi Army’

Katrina vanden Heuvel, editor of the liberal The Nation magazine, did her best to attack Bill Kristol, editor of the conservative Weekly Standard magazine, over his continued support for the Iraq war and the need to take action to stop the increasing violence in the region.

This Week with George Stephanopoulos

KATRINA VANDEN HEUVEL: You do need a legislative branch which asserts its authority. And it’s not to say that one doesn't have problem with executive authority when it comes to drones or NSA surveillance. But the balance is out. The balance is off. For example, the president should go to Congress if he's going to take military action in Iraq. And that was a part of your interview. And I think we're siting here at a moment George where we’re talking about John Boehner. But the central question of war and peace for this country.

There is no military solution to Iraq. And I have to say, sitting next to Bill Kristol, man, I mean, the architects of catastrophe that have cost this country trillions of dollars, thousands of lives, there should be accountability. We should not, if there are no regrets for the failed assumptions that have so grievously wounded this nation, I don't know what happened to our politics and media accountability.

Katrina was a bitch from the get go on the program. I wanted to stuff an apple in her mouth. She kept “lecturing” the rest of the panel in the same way bammy thinks he’s schooling the country when he opens his piehole.

And Katrina along with her magazine is a defender of communism which has wrecked, destroyed and killed literally millions of people.

A liberal talking about accountability. That’s a laugher.

Iraq war defenders never mention the Kurds , whom Sadaam gassed by the 10’s of thousands, and now form the one stable area in the entire region. Strange not to counter punch with that fact.

Obviously, the Kurds need to grease more Congressional palms.

It’s always hilarious when a liberal uses the word ‘accountability’ because they don’t even know the meaning of the word.

Katrina: if you feel so strongly, go to Iraq and hand out Daisies to ISIS.

Kristol should have told van den Heuvel to go join ISIL.

Or the North Korean Army. Worthless commie b!tch!

‘If You Feel So Strongly...Enlist In The Iraqi Army’

Rebuttal, "And if you care so much for the poor give all your possessions to them. " Actually, since Jesus did suggest that to one young man, it's a lot more to the point.

Bill Kristol’s credibility was exhausted years ago. He should hide his face for shame.

I thought the panel was good this morning. There seemed to be a real strong consensus that both GWB and Obama have responsibility for the mess we're in. They seemed to agree that both parties had to be more cognizant of elements in their parties that want things to change. Everyone seemed to be pretty disgusted about the mess in Iraq.

Katrina pushed the envelope, sure. What it lead to was a more honest discussion.

What did she have to say about the Kurds?

I don’t recall if she said anything about the Kurds. The discussion seemed to be more about solving the problems in the US federal gov that lead to actions being taken that circumvent what’s supposed to happen.

She’s quoted about the devastation we wrought in Iraq other places in this thread. I think your trying to make a silk purse out of a sow’s ear. She is deceitful and dishonest as always.
