This week Rasmussen released a poll on the Mississippi U.S. Senate race. At first glance, the results are unsurprising. The results indicate that likely Republican nominee Thad Cochran has a fairly comfortable 46-34 edge over Democrat Travis Childers. However, a closer look at the results indicates that Cochran is faring less well than expected with conservative voters in Mississippi. Indeed, the Cochran campaigns decision to use liberal campaign themes to attract Democratic and minority voters during the runoff appears to have hurt his standing with Mississippi conservatives.
The Rasmussen poll finds that only 50 percent of voters who have a favorable view of the tea party are supporting Senator Cochran. Twenty-three percent of these voters said they would support another candidate besides Senator Cochran and Travis Childers and 8 percent were undecided. Additionally, only 58 percent of self-described conservatives said that they would support Senator Cochran a low figure for a Republican candidate.

If I were a Mississippi conservative voter, he’d be the last person I voted for. GOPe, you reap what you sow.
He committed fraud to win an election. Conservatives everywhere are waking up to this news. Cochran’s numbers will be even lower in the next poll/
What I wonder is, who are these “conservative” voters who would stIll even consider voting for him.
Fraud, race-baiting, and defaming the base.
Write-in campaign, anyone?
Chris McDaniel needs to carry on his fight against the voter fraud that, abetted by Cohcran and the Republican Establishment, in cahoots with low life, Democrat Obamambots rigged the run-off election, illegally and defeated McDaniel.
will not attract them in the general election and will repel the conservative voters he was so anxious to defeat. So...where do his votes come from?
Childers wins.
Keep in mind there are also LIV conservatives. Here on FR, we are a highly informed bunch.
First of all, I hope Chris hasn’t given up claiming his rightful victory.
Secondly, if he actually challenged the results, can’t he run as an Independent?
The write-in line on MS ballots is only there in the case that the nominee drops out of the race for whatever reason after the ballots are printed... so cockroach would have to drop out or be taken out, and the MS Machine doesn’t seem like it’s open to being corrected on its fraud.
This race shows exactly how conservatives can win every election. It’s simple supply and demand.
...Price our votes under $15!
I still do not understand how that works in the general election.
As usual, NRO is late to the party.
Before concerning himself with his conservative-voter problem, Senator Cochran must deal with his staying-out-of-prison problem.
Yeah, but with the GOPe at least we can get cash! Reince and Co. gave $15 apiece to poor blacks to vote for Thad. I'm sure they can cough up a lot more in November, don't you think?
Yup, look at how the Chairman of the MS Dem Party is now just about the biggest cheerleader McDaniels has.
This story is only starting to gain traction, as more information about the vote buying, etc, comes out. Check back in a month or so and it’s likely that Cochranes dwindling Conservative support (seen in this poll) will have collapsed.
Question is, were the MS GOP bosses (Barbour, etc) so stupid that they didn’t see this coming? Or was it a sacrifice play (Cochrane as the sacrifice) to keep McDaniels out of the Senate, even at the cost of a Dem taking the seat?
I will “NO VOTE”, a “write in” is not counted in Mississippi but the law mandates a place for one on the ballot. It will be counted as someone who voted but not for either candidate. 50 K + NO Votes from Conservatives who ALWAYS vote will make a difference.
Both the R and D candidates are listed, with a write-in line below their name. A RAT candidate could drop out of the race, too.
