Might the scales finally be falling from America's eyes?
In a survey of 1,446 registered voters, 33 percent said Obama was the worst president since World War Two, while 28 percent pointed to his predecessor, George W. Bush, as the worst, the poll by Quinnipiac University found.
Voters were split over which of the two most recent presidents has done a better job with 39 percent saying Obama has been a better president than Bush and, 40 percent saying Obama is worse.
Most voters said Ronald Reagan, who served two terms in the 1980s, was the best president since 1945, the survey showed.
"Over the span of 69 years of American history and 12 presidencies, President Barack Obama finds himself with President George W. Bush at the bottom of the popularity barrel," said Tim Malloy, assistant director of Quinnipiac University's polling unit.
While Obama's job approval rating has inched higher to 40 percent, up from 38 percent in December, more voters gave him largely negative marks in key areas: the economy, foreign policy, healthcare and terrorism, according to the poll.
On the environment, 50 percent gave Obama positive marks.
The telephone survey, taken June 24 to June 30, had a margin of error of plus or minus 2.6 percentage points.
Admittedly, our presidents since the end of the world war have been no great shakes. Truman had courage, but was done in by a very deep post war recession.

With all his ‘executive orders’ and his endruns around congress - and the constitution - I still believe Obama will manufacture some crisis or other toward the end of his second term, then declare martial law and suspend elections.
This is a guy who definitely wants to be President for Life, and he clearly feels he’s qualified for the job, despite his abysmal popularity ratings.

I well imagine. that Jimmah is breathing a sigh of relief as Obama has replaced him in the “Worst President in Recent Memory” category.
At least since James Buchanan . . . and he's giving our first gay president a serious run for the #1 spot.
When JP 2 was pope I remember feeling a sense of pride being that I am of Polish descent.
I can understand that Black America would share the same pride to finally put a Black person in the White House.

I'll go out on a historical limb, and call him the worst President since the Revolutionary War.
I have both German and Italian in me, but I feel no such pride that both countries were run by powerful dictators in the early 1940's. Sometimes, you have to face the facts that regardless of whatever ties you have to someone, an a-hole is an a-hole.
So sad that Keith Olbermann no longer does political TV.
Watching his head explode over this survey would be the perfect kick-off for my July 4 weekend.
