Thanks for the education! I also feel better gluten and dairy free.
Not by choice - I loved mild with spaghetti! Every once in a while I should splurge a bit.

"I have discovered over the last 2 or 3 years that wheat causes problems in my gut, colitis, etc. The doctor did a blood test for gluten sensitivity and I came out negative according to the test BUT if I eat something made out of wheat more than once a week................ I am very sorry that I did."
----------------------------------->
Haven't been tested - would be interesting.
My own experimenting tells me gluten hurts my guts, etc, too.
Its a trade off. Give up some foods that make my stomach unhappy or eat foods I really, really like but have negative reaction when I eat them.

"I've been on it for a week, since I got my Ninja complete blender, etc. package from QVC.)"
--------------------------------->
I've seen the Ninja commercials and wandered if they did the trick.
What comes with the complete blender system?
Pricey? Worth buying the whole system or just the bare minimum?

I am so jealous! Local usually tastes so much more flavorful.

We toast gluten-free bread - kinda' like eating a bagel.

I take a tube of Bifa probiotic everyday. Was recommended to me after 2 bouts of C-Diff after 2 hip replacement surgeries.
What is keifer and how do you serve it?

whole grains, nuts, fruits, poultry, and other types of foods and beverages can also be important to a balanced diet. I have no idea what type of nutritional advice that you have been advocating. About the same as you suggested.
But I think that those who advocate "cutting carbs" are speaking with the understanding that junk foods are essentially straight starch or sugar...or both. Same with sodas.
I do, however, differentiate between vegetables and fruit. Most of what you need can be derived from vegetables, many or most fruits contain enough sugar to fatten you up if you eat a lot of them. Especially orange juice.
Then there's beer.

My niece found some of that, she thinks she is gluten intolerant, and it looks like stale cake to me.

Interesting. I'd love to ditch the inhaler!
Looking at my posts probably looks like I'm a medical mess.
As long as I follow what my body tells me (!), I'm pretty good to go!

As I said up thread, a blood test for celiac disease came back negative. that doesn't explain why bread/wheat products make me so constipated that I end up with a sever infection in my gut.

Thanks for the "edumacation"!
The tests/studies are interesting. My personal experience shows that I feel horrible after the gluten.
