At least one prominent Republican lawmaker thinks two-time Republican presidential candidate and 2012 GOP nominee Mitt Romney will run again in 2016.

Rep. Jason Chaffetz (R-Utah) told MSNBC's Chris Matthews that he thinks the "Draft Mitt" hype is real.

"I think he actually is going to run for president. He probably doesn't want me to say that," Chaffetz said during an interview on "Hardball" Monday night.

"A hundred times he says he's not, but Mitt Romney has always accomplished what he's set out to do. I think he's [been] proven right on a lot of stuff. I happen to be in the camp that thinks he's actually going to run, and I think he will be the next president of the United States."

Off and on since the debut of his Netflix documentary, "Mitt," speculation about a possible

Were you around in July of 1980? Do you recall the GOP National Convention? Here’s a fact: Reagan won in a landslide.

we would have national Romneycare and it’d pull the R party down like it is the D party..

Not that the R is not doing a good enough job destroying their own party already.

add Bush to your list as well.

i thought his comment might come up... i have two reasons for not including him on my list... one is, he has never run for President, and my list was made up of Republicans who previously have thrown their hats in the race... the second reason is, i really do not think he has a snowball's chance in hell to be the nominee...

We need a solid conservative FIGHTER this time, and that’s not Romney on either count. I think he’s a good man and would have been several orders of magnitude less damaging to America than 0bama, but we need a president who will be willing to go for the entrenched bureaucracy’s blood. I won’t vote for him in the primary.

I think Mitt is going to run also. He is likely wearing Ann down to give him the go ahead. Men know how to get around their wives. Its going to create a terrible problem for guys like Cruz and Perry. Who can compete with Mitt’s money and the big donors who would have backed Jeb will be happy to go with Mitt.

"Peeking Out From the McCain Wreckage: Mitt Romney"

"Someone's got to say it: IS MITT ROMNEY RESPONSIBLE FOR OBAMA'S VICTORY?"

"Vanity: Team Romney Sabotaged Palin and Continuing to Do So?"

"Romney Supporters Trashing Palin"

"Romney advisors sniping at Palin?"

The Gop didn't run Ron Reagan...In fact, the GOP opposed Reagan...

Let's not forget that one of the leaders of that "Republican" group who opposed all things Reagan was George Romney. Mitt is a natural heir to the liberal wing of the Republican Party - he got his politics from his family.

Such a bone-headed stunt as a Draft Romney movement could doom the Republican Party. Re-nominating Romney might be enough to entice Palin, Cruz, or some other viable, legitimate conservative to agree to run as a third-party candidate. Could a conservative win in a three-way race with Hillary and Romney? Probably not but he or she could be competitive. It would be interesting to see how a sincere, energetic, personable conservative (like Palin or Cruz) would fare again two politically tone-deaf empty suits like Romney and Hillary. But what is certain in this scenario is that the Republican Party would become Humpty Dumpty and all the king's men and all the king's horses could not put it back together again.

I’d rather see Jason run.

Ted Cruz & Jason.

Or Ted Cruz & Scott Walker

we would have national Romneycare ... and we'd have asked for it. We'd have voted for it. With our eyes squeezed shut chanting, "I'm voting against ... I'm voting against ...."

Nuts.
