BREAKING: Rep. Steve Stockman: Sgt. At Arms to Arrest Lois Lerner

Jul 10, 2014 Press Release [....] WASHINGTON — Congressman Steve Stockman Thursday filed a resolution directing the House Sergeant-At-Arms to arrest former IRS Director of the Exempt Organizations Unit Lois Lerner on charges of contempt of Congress.

“Asking the Justice Department to prosecute Lois Lerner for admittedly illegal activity is a joke. The Obama administration will not prosecute the Obama administration. How much longer will the House allow itself to be mocked? It is up to this House to uphold the rule of law and hold accountable those who illegally targeted American citizens for simply having different ideas than the President,” said Stockman.

“Democrats have openly stated the House has the powers to arrest those in contempt of Congress and imprison them in the Capitol. I don’t want to go as far as Democrats in exercising the House’s powers to arrest. Ms. Lerner will be held in the D.C. jail,” said Stockman.

[....]

“It’s time to for House to stop tacitly endorsing this administration’s illegal activity by refusing to hold him accountable. I expect Democrats to defend and even praise criminal activity. The question is whether Republican leadership will join them in mocking the House and breaking the law,” said Stockman.

[....]

Democrats admit the House has the power to arrest those in contempt of Congress. “I could have arrested Karl Rove on any given day,” former House Speaker and current House Minority leader Nancy Pelosi told The Huffington Post just days ago, on June 20. “I’m not kidding. There’s a prison here in the Capitol. If we had spotted him in the Capitol, we could have arrested him.”

Is Lois going to be incarcerated at the Hyatt Regency? I suspect there is no SOS on the room service menu.

“How much longer will the House allow itself to be mocked?”

For as long as the RINOs are in charge.

“I expect Democrats to defend and even praise criminal activity. “

This needs to be repeated, loudly and often.

She probably isn’t too worried. She knows she can get a pardon from Obama for not revealing White House involvement.

“She probably isn’t too worried. She knows she can get a pardon from Obama for not revealing White House involvement.”

That is where it gets interesting. Since Lerner would be held in custody for contempt of Congress, there may not be a conviction for Obama to pardon. If so, then Lerner might be held in the custody of the House of Representatives at the Capitol jail for contempt until after Obama leaves office; and then she could perhaps be indicted, prosecuted, convicted, and sent to Federal prison on other charges without a Democrat President to pardon her.

Methinks we have a new winner of “The FR Misleading Title of the Day” award. Unless filing a resolution equal arrest and incarceration.

“Methinks we have a new winner of “The FR Misleading Title of the Day” award. Unless filing a resolution equal arrest and incarceration.”

Misleading by being ambiguous in a short headline, perhaps. But don’t let that get in the way of noting the key point Allen West is making about the way in which Nancy Pelosi and the other Democrats have opened the door with their own threats to arrest and jail Karl Rove in the Capitol jail.

Doesn’t the House know how stupid they sound?

It’s just like Obama drawing a red line.

Empty threats accomplish nothing.

“Empty threats accomplish nothing.”

It has not yet been established whether or this is going to be an empty threat. Rep. Stockman is very much in earnest by introducing this bill in the House of Representatives. It is Boehner and the other Republicans who have made earlier statements in May that there were no plans to jail Lois Lerner. Given the legislation introduced by Stockman, it remains to be seen whether or not the other Republicans will act upon Stockman’s proposed legislation. Rep. Stockman has taken the first step required to arrest and jail Lois Lerner. It is now up to the other Republicans and the Democrats to come forth and put her in the Capitol jail for her contempt of Congress. It is also up to the Citizens of the United States to communicate to their Congressmen a demand the arrest and jail Lois Lerner for contempt of Congress or be held accountable for their own failure to comply with their oaths of office. Ultimately the responsibility for requiring compliance with U.S. Government officers’ oaths of office falls upon each and every U.S. Citizen.
