Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu has asked the IEC not to risk the lives of its employees in trying to restore power.

Seventy thousand Gazans from Khan Younis and Deir el-Balah were in the dark Sunday night after a Hamas rocket hit the power line that supplies electricity to those places. It's not clear when Israel Electric Company workers will be able to repair the system, but they are apparently in no rush to do so. Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu has asked the IEC not to risk the lives of its employees in trying to restore power to the affected sector in Gaza, an operation that could take hours.

A good man not afraid to take action and no apologies for it! We drew our leader from the bottom of the barrel.

I keep losing track. Does Israel still own The Gaza Strip or did they turn it over to Palestinians?

Let the Palestinians live in caves and eat grubs. When they foul their own nest, do not fix it. Let the Palestinians fix what they have destroyed. If they cannot, that is just too bad. Actions have consequences and the Israelis do not have to fix the creature comforts of the people who are trying to kill them.

Allah guided that rocket, right into the Palestinian’s power supply.

Let me get this right. The Palestinians owe the Israel Electric Company $520 million in unpaid bills for electricity. The company is suing to get paid from money given to the Palestinians. The Palestinians use the electricity to power their bomb-making factories. And the Palestinians destroyed part of the electrical grid and want Israel to repair it.

If I were Israel, I would be in no rush to repair the damage. Nope, no rush at all!

Hamas will most certainly tell the locals that an Israeli air strike destroyed the power station.

They’ll demand Israel fix it now, even though they launched the rocket, and it supplies power to them.

The UN will likely capitulate.

After the Oslo agreements, the Palestinians assumed an autonomous control of both the Gaza Strip and portions of the West Bank. Who is in control of those areas has shifted since the Fatah "party" lost control to Hamas.

One of the main problems for the Palestinians is that there is no land bridge between the two areas. That problem would have been solved in the late 90's with Israeli and Palestinian negotiators actively trading parcels of land on a map to make a land bridge possible. All of those efforts were destroyed when Yassar Arafat decided to derail the entire peace process by denying any and all claims regarding the importance of the Western Wall by Israel. There is no other explanation for this than Arafat knowing that he couldn't govern in a peaceful situation and his only choice was for hostilities to continue.
