State governors from both parties have reacted cooly to efforts by the Obama administration to gain their support for placing thousands of unaccompanied Central American children with friends or family members.

Health and Human Services Secretary Sylvia Matthews Burwell met privately with dozens of governors Sunday at the National Governors Association summer meeting in Nashville. According to those who attended the meeting, the governors expressed particular concerns about the costs to states, including that of providing public education for the children. Burwell left the meeting through a side door without talking to reporters.

So very reminiscence of king george 3 ordering the quartering of troops in American homes, before the War of Independence.

This is one You start with your city, county, state and then fed. Not the other way around. Cities have to prevent them from coming their, then the states. Feds are the last on the chain.

Re watching John Adams.

From here:That is a very valuable link. In theory, if the Feds have plans for storing any illegal aliens in your state, your State Refugee Coordinator would know about it. Whether or not they are willing to spill the beans is another topic.

This isn't about dems vs 'pubs. NO ONE in power, either party, has actually done anything to stop this outrage. Until a governor actually calls up the national guard or uses state authority to arrest anyone involved in this human traficking (etc) the govs should stop whining. Shut up or put up!

And the DC crowd? Is "our" HOR still expecting us to respect them? Fund transportation home, and that's it. Microchip the hordes so they can NEVER enter the US again. Here's a creative thought...defund AF1. Those "conservative" HOR reps are probably too busy with focus groups and figuring out how to use this as a campaign issue.

What I'll never forget is the three border govs most affected are 'pubs and they haven't called up the National Guard to protect their borders. What I'll never forget is the HOR has majority rule and have caved on every issue instead of using the power of the purse they've been given.

Maybe we should just let the dems have everything, since the nation is goin' down anyway with the paralysis just about everyone in elected office suffers from, all levels of gov.

> The State Governors have NO EXCUSE for inaction not when the survival of the country is at stake.

I’m guessing Obama would withhold federal funding from them as a form of blackmail if they didn’t “obey” as a form of retribution. That’s the way he rolls.

“Is this starting to go against the 10 Amendment?

of what? you cant be refering to the old thing called a Constitution. It is no longer honored by the supreme rulers, rebublican and democrat. What your seeing is just a graceful surrender of America to the spanics because white people are evil and don’t deserve the country anymore.

If you see it again you will see how all of the things in the film have come to pass two years later.

We need a nice flotilla of barges in the Gulf of Mexico. Put illegals on a barge far enough out that they cannot swim to our country until we can bring them to court and deport them. Alternatively, put them on an abandoned oil platform in the Gulf. Alternatively, fly them home again. We should never release criminals on trust as if someone willing to come here illegally would voluntarily show up for a court date next year.
