They haven’t forgotten. Some have intentionally ignored it.
Global warming hoax bump for later...
Wow! That’s an awful lot of poor measurement error.
These measurements go back to the 1850s. Are you suggesting that the guys measuring the temperature in Siberia in the winter in 1875 were NOT calibrating their instruments to be accurate to within 0.1 deg? Are you suggesting we didn’t KNOW the daily temperatures in the Amazon rain forest with high precision in 1897?
Skeptic! Suggesting reputable scientists are taking measurements with a sledgehammer and reporting their results with a micrometer!
If you look at most professional level digital thermometers they are accurate to between +/- .08C degrees so anything more precise than that is impossible.
Here’s something that many are unaware of. Winter temperatures not far from some mountain tourist areas are often shown to be much higher than they really are. I’ve often seen weather service reported temps in my area as being 10 or 20 degrees (F) higher than local readings.
They do it for the tourism. Higher reported winter lows draw revenues. It’s highly likely that their are private-public
understandings, because the more business, the more revenues.
I’ve also seen quite a few improperly housed thermometers—structures collecting thermal. That can make a big difference under high-altitude sunlight.
