A program designed to help Rhode Island's older adult population prepare for climate change threats is one of several projects that will receive federal money as part of the state's disaster recovery action plan. This program will receive $150,000 over the next two years.

Julia Gold, the health department's climate change program manager, said the agency and its partners will develop these plans during a pilot project to kick off this fall in Washington County.

The grant to support this program comes from federal money designed to help long-term recovery efforts related to Hurricane Sandy.

Large FEMA disaster bills become ATM's for liberal parasites. Hurricane $andy is no different. And nobody in either party does anything to stop this madness.

I’m an elderly woman who lives alone and am perfectly capable of taking care of myself.

Most of my friends are also alone and they do just fine also.

This idea is ridiculous.

Shame program determined by shame science. Few if any older folks will benefit, the lefty’s hired to administer the program will suck it up in wages. 150k over 2 years is chump change, but might pay the salary of 2 or 3 Gubmint takers.

The best way to deal with “climate change” is to ignore it.

I believe many Republicans would but the sheeple will believe all the RAT rhetoric of how inhumane Republicans are not to spend blindly with no accountability of where the money goes.

This sounds like a good idea. As we all know, the earth is apparently cooling at something like .2 degrees C per century. Temperature changes like that can just drive the old folks crazy.

I used to believe this, and perhaps it was true in the days of Cronkite. But today, if they wanted to get that message out, they could. Fox is the #1 network and has been for years and would happily accomodate them, especially if they showed a little creativity.

My conclusion is that they are either colluding with the Democrats, they're cowards, or both.

Don’t be so quick to dismiss Climate Change. Here in the northeast, the average daily temperature has been in the 80s during the past few weeks. That’s about triple what it was just six months ago.

Now the masks over why the Dems went all in on “Global Warming” a.k.a. “Climate Change”! It’s just another excuse to expropriate $ and distribute it to buy vote and entrench politicians!

I’ve lived with climate change all of my life.
Winter, spring ,summer and fall and some all in the same week while growing up in northeast Ohio.

This is not as far fetched as it seems. Many of the elderly have dementia, which is certainly at the heart of global warming propaganda, so....

Well an air conditioner for the summer and a thick blanket for the winter should do it. This way they are “covered” in case we have a cold summer or hot winter. /s

And <warmist mode> if this trend continues, </warmist mode> we could be seeing temperatures above 240 degrees in six months. :=)

I have decided that God decided we should suffer short term or recent memory loss as we age so it wouldn’t be so painful to watch what is happening to our country. We may not have had a lot of material things growing up but we did have our family and freedom.

Still too cold in Ark to go swimming. Too cold in what the news just said was the hottest June on record. Never got above 90 here. Those people must be living in a fantasy world.

Now, back in 1968, on June 5, it was 98 degrees and humid. Felt like 115.

And 1984 June was a killer!

And May 5, 1972 was 105 degrees in downtown Tulsa.

By the time that Rhode Islands develops any plan for the elderly to cope with “climate change”, they’ll all be dead from old age.
