Another "friendly" pit bull that snapped and attacked someone. When will people learn this is like having a "friendly" tiger or grizzly bear as a pet?

The entire breed should be destroyed. Banished from the earth forever...................

There is something primal just under the surface that goes off even in the most “friendly” of this breed.

Well, Supreme never did this before!

Isn't that what they always say?

I thought it was:

Yeah so here I am and my pit bull who was raised properly would do nothing more to you than lick your face.

But that would probably be more action than you have had in ages.

Punish the deed, not the breed.

Important part of the story:

The dog died after what Wallkill police Chief Robert Hertman described as "an intense struggle" as officers worked to restrain the animal.

"We don't know conclusively why the dog died," Hertman said. Tests are underway and a local veterinarian, Dr. Paul Johnson, has sent samples to a lab to determine if the dog had rabies.

Let's not act like liberals and only tell part of the story.

I do my part. I carry a suppressed camp carbine in the truck for killing pits that are loose in the county. I get 2-3 a year. I get about 10 coyotes too.

Good luck with that.

Maybe you’d like to also properly raise a tiger?

Pretty much what every one of the owners in these stories says.

Last week I returned from doing some errands. A neighbor two houses down was getting ready to mow his lawn. I noticed that his Pit Bull was out in his yard with him.

I exited my vehicle and walked over to check the mail box. I felt something brush against my crotch.

I looked down and it was the neighbors dog. He'd snuck over while I had walked over to the mailbox.

I jumped back and yelled, "Hey pup !"

I don't know which one of us was surprised the most, me or him. Poor dog took off running back to his yard..

If he'd been vicious, I'd have been in a world of hurt.

The owners clearly trusted the dog, letting the girl rub his belly. They had it from when it was a pup. They do not appear to be gangbangers. So tell is again it is the owner, not the breed. These dogs always seem to go for the face/head of the child. If the dog is worth more to the owner than the kid, don’t have it near the kid. Ever.

People should never buy a pit bull from a backyard breeder because they could be buying a ticking time bomb. If I ever bought this breed I would only buy from a reputable breeder where I could see both parents. My friend has been doing this for 30 years and he always has good tempered dogs. There would be far fewer attacks if there wasn’t so many lowlifes breeding and owning these dogs.

The owner said he got the dog to let go of the childs face. I wish I knew how he managed to do that. My 2 male Jack Russels get into a fight occasionally. they are small dogs and they latch onto each other faces. I can not pry their mouths apart. The only thing I can do is drag the 2 out side and with the water hose, I fill up their mouths and noses full of water until they let go.

"He (Supreme) was being loved," Gardner said. "But then he went from love to hate."

Add this one to the pathetic list of sappy phrases that PB owners say in the bloody aftermath of an attack.

At some point there needs to be a consequence, such as 30 days in the hole, for when your lovable PB gnaws some poor kids face off.
