Either God really doesn’t take sides or worse, in his eyes we deserve each other.
An interesting study in Biblical history is to examine the times when Israel was "visited" by foreign nations in light of the times Israel went spiritually off the rails.
I'm not saying it's a perfect analogy with modern times (it's not), but it tends to give me pause to see the similarities.
God takes sides. He has given us the way out at great cost to Himself. But we still have to accept it. There will be sin and cruelty in the world until God brings the curtain down. But withhold your judgement until you see the final act....
