The Islamic State (IS), formerly known as ISIS, has launched an initiative to conquer land in Lebanon, even though the terrorist group does not have a strong presence there. The Lebanese army continues to fight after IS captured its first portion of Lebanese land, border town Arsal, on Sunday.
Four civilians are dead. Soldiers surrounded the town of 40,000 residents and continue to shell it in an effort to liberate the people from IS. Residents have fled, but the people stuck in the middle are the refugees who fled Syria during the civil war. The United Nations said that “[M]ore than a third of the 1.1 million registered Syrian refugees in Lebanon are in the Bekaa Valley” which holds Arsal. From The New York Times:
Arsal is also one of the temporary homes for many of the Syrian war refugees who have sought sanctuary in eastern Lebanon, and witnesses said Lebanese Army checkpoints were refusing to let the refugees relocate deeper into the country. Some refugees said they were panicking because they had nowhere to go.The Lebanese Army statement said its casualties from three days of fighting totaled 14 soldiers killed, 86 wounded and 22 missing, with at least some of them presumed captured by the militants. More than 20 Islamist fighters were also believed to have been killed, but it was impossible to determine their precise casualties.

I don’t always agree with BOR but he was right when he said that Obama could have ordered the USAF to decimate ISIS by bombing them in Iraq...and Obama did nothing.
How does the world sit back and watch this organization just grow and grow and invade country after country?

I think/thought Hezbollah is Shiite.
Isis is (redundant, I know that now), Sunni.
IS is killing Shiites and Christians and Jews, Shiites are killing Jews and Christians and are defending themselves from the only group that is actively trying to kill them, which is IS.

Lebanon is only ~25% Sunni.
I don’t see them finding much success there.
Hopefully, Hezbollah and ISIS tear each other apart.
Lebanon looks like a great site for North Israel.

Could be because of the overwhelming presence of Islam in their own countries. Europe opened the doors wide to Islamists many years ago. They are prolific throughout the continent.
I saw their presence in the UK in the latter 1970’s, and since have read of their progress infiltrating other countries such as France, and Scandinavian countries.
It’s difficult to do anything when you are inviting a rebellion in what was your own land upon a time.
It will get to a point they will have to do something though, and sooner would be better than later, but it should have been yesterday.
It seems that the world powers either underestimated the ISIS threat or overestimated their ability to gain advantage from it.
It is because America is funding this. Its the new Obama-American rage. Supporting muslims to eradicate christians via proxy.... all at America’s expense.
Soon these mothers will be here on our streets if obama gets his way. Isis is one of his sons.
