The problem is those that enable the liberal republicans by voting for them, just because they are republicans.

In the last presidential election, the republican candidate didn't even match the republican party platform (abortion, gun-control, amnesty, socialized medicine), but the idiots voted for him.

Agree, but I won’t call them idiots as a group. I’m wanting to keep things civil around here, especially towards those sincere FReepers who see things differently than I (we) do.

America is becoming increasingly un-civil. The GOP-E is certainly un-civil toward me and my political position.

I'll continue to call it like I see it, and screw civility. The politicians can be civil.

America is becoming increasingly un-civil.

It's easy to see that is indeed happening. Yet, increasingly, I prefer to resist the incivility, sometimes by just pointing it out.

It has made me the beloved guy I am on FR.

Please guys, this is the last thing the Republican Party needs.

You may want to consider taking your concerns about the Republican Party to a Republican Forum. Free Republic is a Conservative Forum. The Republican Party left me in the ditch several years ago. My tagline sums it up.

Someone said the Democrat in this race will top out at 40%. If Ravenel gets the predicted 11% of the vote, that leaves Lindsey Graham with 49%. Graham still wins by plurality. There's no run-off in the General Election. Bill Clinton was elected Prez with a plurality both times. Now,having said that..... if Ravenel hangs in there with his 11% of the vote and the Dem can manage to sqeak out 45% of the vote, Lindsey can start cleaning out his office because that only leaves him with 44% of the vote. The Dem, Hutto, wins with by a plurality. Anything is possible, but I don't see a Democrat getting 45% of the vote in South Carolina. If this was NORTH Carolina, maybe; but not South Carolina. Graham will have Nikki Haley and every Republican in the U.S. on the Ground in SC campaigning for him.

It’s a solid Red State and the Democraps have conceded it anyway, pulling out their funding and basically whatever organization they had in the state.

Do you think that this latest development (Ravenel entering the race) might cause the Democrats to rethink that strategy?

Funny thing is, his prior rap-sheet is hardly an issue at all. As the Bible makes clear, no one is without flaws, and the high treason committed by Lindsey Graham far exceeds any crimes Ravenel was alleged to have committed.....

EXCELLENT POINT!!!

You might be surprised to learn there still quite a few Americans left in South Carolina. More and more are catching on the the Uniparty game we've been treated to for a decade or two or three.

I'm sure you're correct. But, think about what I said. I said I don't think a Dem will get 45% of the vote in South Carolina..... SC is too Conservative to give a Dem that many votes. But, it's different in North Carolina, with it's Liberal bastion inside the city limits of Charlotte; 45% for the Dem should be no problem at all.

Ive been a member of FR since 1999, posting under “ cosmo” for most of that time. But none of that has anything to do with the fact that Thomas Ravenel is not a man of character. He is a spoiled rich kid who galavants around the city of charleston trolling for bimbos and flashing his largesse.
