The Pentagon is looking at conducting emergency air drops to the estimated 15,000 stranded ethnic minority Yazidis in northern Iraq, reports CBS News national security correspondent David Martin,

A decision is expected today. Martin says if the U.S. military makes drops, the transport planes would almost certainly be escorted by fighters.

Reuters, citing Turkish officials, reported Thursday that thousands of Yazidis had fled to the Turkish border to escape the the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS), which has advanced to northern Iraq.

ISIS, which has rebranded itself as the Islamic State, issued an ultimatum to tens of thousands of people from the Yazidi community on Saturday to convert to Islam, pay a religious fine, flee their homes or face death. Yazidis follow an ancient religion with links to Zoroastrianism. The Islamic State regards the Yazidis as "devil-worshippers," according to Reuters.

Transport planes would be escorted by fighter jets.

Great! Drop supplies in the mountains to the Yazidis. Drop bombs on IS fighters on the way back to Incirlik.

Repeat as often as both problems go away.

But that would damage the plan the Islamic enemy agent posing as our President has for the entire middle east. I mean come onnn, when Al-Qaeda was attacking our own Embassy in Benghazi, killing our Ambassador and Navy seals, did we consider air drops then? Nooo, because that would have saved them!

They may get air drops but they are still surrounded by ISIS.

What is needed are airstrikes against ISIS.

Unfortunately, Obama supports the like of ISIS, Hamas and the Muslim Brotherhood.

Drop rations to the Yazidis, drop anti armor rockets, ammunition, and weapons to the Kurds. As far as ISIS is concerned, special deliveries via Arc Light, the more deliveries the better, so they can all get their 72 virgins sooner. WE can do all this by air if we act quickly. Its a target rich environment that should not be passed up.

Saw the Iraqi woman official pleading in tears to the Iraqi Parliament to do something. What a shame!
So much for any intervention in regions where their foreign policy is summed up in as “Insha’Allah” . Officials there don’t seem to want to sacrifice for anything. I cannot understand how they will not defend themselves.

Barak is too much of a coward to drop anything on ISIS.

Drop bombs on IS fighters on the way back to Incirlik.

What is Erdogan's take on ISIS? Supports or dislikes?

The Emir mulls and the pentagon considers but they are not doing it and a population,a religion is being exterminated because they are not Mohammedan enough for ISIS or for The Emir Hussein.
