A VIOLENT riot and looting has erupted in Missouri, after a protest over the killing of an unarmed black teenager descended into chaos.
Crowds of protesters broke windows of cars and stores after a day of demonstrations over the death of Michael Brown, an 18-year-old black teenager who was shot dead on Saturday by a police officer in the predominately black neighbourhood of Ferguson, located a few miles north of downtown St Louis, the Chicago Tribune reports.
At the time he was shot and killed by police, Brown was unarmed and allegedly surrendering with his hands in the air on Saturday.
A police officer shot him several times, killing him.
But, the St. Louis County Police Department’s chief, which is handling the investigation into the incident, says Brown assaulted the officer and struggled over the officer’s weapon.
The officer who shot Brown is on paid leave while the shooting is under investigation.
At around 8.30pm local time on Sunday, 30 minutes before a vigil was to be held for Brown, protesters became “aggressive”, Fox2Now reports.
A riot then broke out, sending locals inside and running for cover.
“We are currently experiencing a riot,” a Ferguson police dispatcher said

This is nearly as formulaic as the Israeli-Arab conflict.
When anything happens in the ME, they Arabs blame/attack Israel.
When anything happens in a black neighborhood, they riot and loot stores.
nothing creates justice like looting a convenience store.
Then they’ll bitch and whine about there not being any jobs, and about “Food Deserts.”

These same folk are not concerned when a dozen or more Blacks are shot over the weekend by other Blacks in major urban areas like Chicago.
I noticed the race of the policeman was not given on the news last night. By this I assume he was also black. Am I correct?
Yes. A couple of those looters occupies the White House and the Justice Department.
Sometimes the liberals complain about food deserts, and complain that major chain supermarkets, and other retailers, do not locate stores in the ghetto neighborhoods. And they imply that such actions are racist.
When we see what happened here, perhaps there are other reasons for businesses to avoid the ghetto? Such as fears for personal safety, greater security and insurance costs in high crime areas, and greater threat of your business being destroyed by civil unrest???

What's going to happen when schools open and some of them have enough of the invaders from Central America and other places to upset the power structure in schools that already have issues? I fear the DC elite are so removed from reality that they don't know or don't care that uncontrolled violence could happen in the US.
Twenty two years later, neighborhoods in South Central LA still have vacant lots where stores once stood before the riots. People complain about the lack of retail. Who wants to run a business in a neighborhood where the locals are known for stealing, looting and burning businesses to the ground?
When I was teaching econ in Omaha, I asked my students to see if complaints about higher prices in the inner city were true. The result was that, on average, prices were higher by about 9%. The primary reason: theft-shoplifting and the resulting higher insurance costs.
Liberals point to a disproportionate number of blacks in jail compared to whites and they say it’s because of profiling. It could also be because blacks commit more crimes. In a debate between Orin Hatch and Jesse Jackson on gun control, Jesse was playing his usual blacks-are-the-victims to argue for gun control. Orin’s response: “If we subtract the violent crimes committed by black males between the ages of 18 and 29, the US would have a lower violent crime rate than Switzerland.” Jesse’s response: Crickets...
Yep, the real race war will be blacks and latinos.
