After a long, hot summer, with very little money coming in, I am happy when the kids come back, like the Capistrano swallows!

Speaking of hot, it hit the mid-90’s here today. We’re not prepared for this in the Pacific Northwest. Few people have AC. You just have to drink a lot of iced tea.

The whole day went by today without a T-Storm!
I think that the daily storms may be a good thing, as they migt be defusing Hurricanes.
We haven’t had any of those for a while. (And i prefer it remain that way!)

Good evening, Mayor, and thank you for today’s sustenance for body and soul.
We are supposed to get rain every night for the week. We did last night.

"Drums in my heart are drumming
I hear the Corps a'commin
My Spirit Marine is a'commin to me.
Over the land and sea,
Onward to victory,
My Spirit Marine is a'commin to me.
We'll meet them at the shore,
wade thru the blood an gore
all for the honor and the glory of the Corps.
Some counties send their favorite sons
but we are the lucky ones,
My Spirit Marine is a'commin to me.

The quarters we lived in 1965 are still there. Built shortly before 1900 I believe. I attended 7th grade at the base school.
What is now the museum housed the library and the gym. Spent a fair amount of time there reading and playing handball.

Went to MCRD San Diego.
I don't know PI from beans. Just, little yellow footprints.

Good evening, Mac...*HUGS*...did you sally forth today?
Something is going on on the road I take home...all I can see is tail lights. It’s a parking lot right now....accident? Moose?

In 1986 my husband and I went to Parris Island for our son’s graduation.
Seems like yesterday.
