Weekly Standard ^ | Aug 13, 2014 | JERYL BIER

Fresh off a trip to India and Australia, Secretary of Defense Chuck Hagel addressed a group of Marines in San Diego, California Tuesday, and may have delivered a line that will show up in Republican campaign ads this election cycle. After updating the troops on some issues in the Pacific region and the Middle East, Hagel took questions from some of the Marines and gave a stark assessment of the global security situation: "The world is exploding all over." The remark came in response to a question about the Obama administration's realignment of the military towards the Asia-Pacific theater:

I don’t think having an Everybody Gets a Nobel “Peace” Prize recipient for president was a good idea.

OK, I just have to post this “The Obama administration has increasingly come under fire lately for weakness in foreign policy, even from former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, though Clinton seemed to subsequently walk back her criticism.”

OK, when the decision was made to place CIA and Military advisors in Jordan to train radical Islamists to overthrow Assad that was in 2011. For the students here, who was the Secretary of State at that time? That would have been Hillary Clinton. I do not recall any statement from her anywhere in the press where she did not agree with the decision to train terrorists in Jordan to overthrow Assad. In fact she was fully involved in it. So her statements criticizing Obama are unwarranted since she is a co-conspirator. Question anyone?

All the outrageous stuff happening has one common denominator. The regime. Our opposition party is running here and there saying, “We have to fix immigration, we have to fix Ukraine, we have to help in Iraq, we have to fix the deficit, riots in St. Louis, IRS, Benghazi, drug cartels, the economy, activist judges.” Everything we’re concerned about is being intentionally piled on by the regime.

You have to remember, Chuck Hagel is a blithering idiot. Rand Paul voted to confirm him.

Countries will step up and fight to fill the power vacuum left by the USA caused by Fubar Obama’s change part of his “Hope and Change”. The world is in turmoil and millions will and are currently dying. Most of the dead are peaceful, non-violent people that have no means or will to fight their killers. It’s the unintended consequence of Fubar Obama’s view of what America’s place in the world should be.

They've "Cloward-Pivened" themselves.

I'm reminded of the "Red October" scene where the Russian sub chasing the RO is overtaken by its own torpedo: "You arrogant ass - you've killed us!" This is the historically-predictable result of unilateral lowering of troop levels without fully understanding the world situation.
