Missouri Gov. Jay Nixon declared a state of emergency and imposed a curfew Saturday in the St. Louis suburb of Ferguson where black teenager Michael Brown was shot to death by a white police officer a week ago.

Nixon said at a press conference that though many protesters were making themselves heard peacefully, the state would not allow a handful of looters to endanger the community. The curfew will run from midnight to 5 a.m.

Nixon also said Saturday the U.S. Department of Justice is beefing up its investigation of the shooting.

Missouri State Highway Patrol Capt. Ron Johnson, who is in charge of security in Ferguson, said there were 40 FBI agents going door-to-door talking to people who might have seen or have information about the shooting.

And here I thought King Jeremiah was keeping the peace with the takeover of law enforcement and the appointment of a black guy to lead them?

Guess that didn’t work as planned

12 to 5 only.

Just enough time for the looters to get some sleep.

Midnight? Midnight?...dumb.

Curfew starts at sunset. No need to protestors in the streets after that...

The latest developments comes after looters were met with little police resistance Friday night and store owners say they were forced to protect their businesses with their own guns, Fox2Now.com reported.

A reporter from the station tweeted that police cars were seen driving past some of the stores being looted and did not respond. Protesters could be seen outside until 6 a.m.

Two store owners, standing outside their business holding guns, told Fox2Now.com that when they called 911, they were sent from one police agency to another, and got no response.

"There's no police," one of the owners said. "We trusted the police to keep it peaceful; they didn't do their job."

Take those paragraphs to heart. This isn't even a SHTF scenario and the police with all the tacticool gear can barely keep a lid on things.

Buy guns, band together, protect yourselves. That's the way Americans need to think from now on.

If the police refuse to protect store owners, shouldn’t they get a refund on their taxes?

Serious question.

Let’s see how that works —

Those people up there are the working poor and many work night shifts and get off at 2:00 AM. Are they supposed to drive around til 5:00???

Meanwhile they have photos and video of all the looters and they could arrest them and charge them and this would all be over — but they aren’t.

Hmmmmm

That state takeover by the MHP and reasoning with the people really went well didn’t it?

Does that mean “those committing crimes against persons or property will be shot on sight”?

Fire hoses?
Dogs?
Wooden truncheons?

Hmmph.

Is there any other group of people with perceived grievances that look for the solution by crapping in their own nests? It has to be cultural.

I used a lot practicing at the range yesterday. Have to get a reloading press and tune my garand. It wasn’t ejecting the clip after it emptied. Maybe the gas tube needs cleaning.

What are the protestors....ummm....protesting?

Isn’t it clear that the shooting will be investigated....and now that investigation will be under the thumb of the DOJ. What else are they ‘protesting’ for?

I think I know the answer.....Jesse wants to use this for his standard white guilt protection racket. Crump is boosting his newfound celebrity. The average protestor probably gets free cigs fro. The DOJ and probably a shot at scoring some free beer.
