To modify: all conservatism is social conservatism. Without the base of right and wrong, conservatism is not possible. In short, if you ain't socon, you ain't nocon.

And if you aren't ALSO fiscally conservative, you do not have the right to the label conservative.

Yes, you need the base of right and wrong, but if we do not ENERGETICALLY de-fund the Left by cutting government programs and grants, then they win over the long term.

Case in point, the black vote. There are allegedly lots of Bible-believing, church-going, socially-conservative blacks out there. Yet they still vote 95% Democrat. Why? Because they are financially addicted to government-enforced affirmative action, welfare, government jobs, non-profit grants to "combat poverty and discrimination:, etc.

If we are ONLY socially conservative, the Dems win.

A lot of times these leftist groups, like the eco-nuts, file a suit against the government and the bureaucrats settle or lose on purpose, $$$$ another way the government funds the left. Not just grants.

Agreed. And I think you’ll find the overwhelming majority of socons are also fiscally conservative.

But fiscally conservative but socially liberal people are called Libertarians, not conservatives.
