Fifteen people were shot in a spate of overnight violence in New York City that left two people dead and 13 others injured, some critically, in a span of eight hours.
Police reported the first shooting late Saturday, at an East Harlem Park. Three people were shot and injured in Jefferson Park on 113th Street and First Avenue; one of the victims was seriously injured, according to officials.
Shortly before 3 a.m. Sunday two were shot dead in Hamilton Heights when a motorist got out of his car and opened fire. The driver fled after fatally wounding a 21-year-old man in the neck and a 29-year-old in the back.
Three people were shot on a street in the Mott Haven section of the Bronx shortly before 3 a.m. Sunday. A 19-year-old was shot in the arm, a 24-year-old was also shot in the arm and a 29-year-old was shot in the thigh. The injuries were considered non-life threatening.
In a shooting in the South Jamaica section of Queens at around 6 a.m. Sunday four people were shot when two men got out of a car and fired more than 20 rounds. Two of them were in critical condition, according to officials.

I’ve been telling people to watch this little experiment play out. Detroit is an open carry city with a heavily armed population. The new police chief restarted the stop and frisk program and encourages people to defend themselves.
The murder rate is down 25% to 30% this year from last year.
Don’t expect anyone to raise the issue culture on this one.

It can’t be possible, in N.Y. they have made sure that honest law abiding citizens are unarmed! Who could possibly be doing such a thing?
This must be some kind of mistake, NY City is supposed to be a gun free zone, only police have them.

I see a pattern here. Don’t want to get shot? Stay out of the parks after dark. Particularly after midnight. Stay off the streets till the sun comes up too. There be vampires here.
