The results of a private autopsy on Michael Brown may escalate tensions in Ferguson, Missouri even further: The examiner says the unarmed teenager was shot at least six times, including twice in the head, and all the bullets came from the front, reports the New York Times. Pathologist Michael Baden, New York City's former chief medical examiner, says all the bullets were fired from at least one or two feet away, and one bullet—apparently the last one fired—hit the top of the 18-year-old's head.

I think that would be correct. Other posters have convinced me to rethink my initial speculation.
I doubt that he was on heroin, it tends to make people a little more mellow. I would guess a central nervous stimulant would contribute to Brown’s aggressiveness given that he was facing an armed officer.

There’s nothing wrong with the post and no need to remove the whole thing. Just fix the headline by removing the parenthetical.
All I was pointing out was if something is no more than two feet away, then it cannot be three feet because it can’t be more than two feet away.
I agree that fixing the parenthetical would also work.
I have just read the AP article in my local Obama Orifice and Outlet, the Albany (NY) Times Union. ALL of the points NOT MENTIONED in the ABC Radio News were ALSO NOT MENTIONED in the AP article EVEN though they all were reported in the NEW YORK TIMES ARTICLE.

Think of it this way: 35 ft is a little over ten yards. An athletic kid -- even the size of Brown -- could cover that distance in about 2 seconds. That's not a lot of time for a LEO to retreat to safety.
I think adrenaline might qualify.
In my long ago training as a boarding officer, the rule was if you are in the situation where you must shoot a perp, you keep pulling the trigger until your runs out of ammo or the target is clearly neutralized. Then quickly reload.

It says AT LEAST one or two feet away. That is vague, but just means that the shots were not closer than that. That they were in the front means that the deceased was not fleeing.
The heading for this item as posted in FR is misleading.

So is this true? If so, then he was not shot with his hands up in the air from 35 feet away?
I agree with your observation that Brown could have covered 35 feet very quickly. To me, the most logical explanation would be that Wilson started firing when Brown was still at distance, with the last shot being fired was the one to the top of the head as Brown was falling forward.
Operative words there are ‘at least’

The information was that the distance was at least 1 to 2 feet, meaning as other posters have pointed out, that the distance may be greater than two feet. That being said, the location of the wounds makes it unlikely that he had his “hands up” while running towards the officer. People don’t run like that.
No, because there is no way Baden could determine that without access to the clothing.
Baden can only say that the shots were not very close.
Baden only said the shots were not from close range.
From the NYT article:
“The bullets did not appear to have been shot from very close range because no gunpowder was present on his body. However, that determination could change if it turns out that there is gunshot residue on Mr. Brown’s clothing, to which Dr. Baden did not have access.”
A very close shot would leave stippling and soot even through clothes.
Trayvon Martin had a soot ring and heavy stippling even through a hoodie and a t-shirt.
Note that Johnson says that Brown was shot at close range at the vehicle and began to bleed there.
probably so the claim can't be made that the officer walked over to the kneeling deceased and executed him, as some have alleged to have occurred.
