A police officer who pointed an assault rifle at people in Ferguson on Tuesday night and threatened to kill them has been relieved of duty and suspended indefinitely, authorities said.
A video documenting the encounter (warning: graphic language) that made the rounds Wednesday showed the officer who was pointing his rifle in the direction of the camera telling protesters, I will [expletive] kill you. When asked for his name, the officer responded with, Go [expletive] yourself.

He was stupid in both pointing his weapon at them and saying what he did. If he was the guy on the top of the truck, then he was positioned badly by his superiors.
The whole initial deployment of police was an absolute disaster and showed no knowledge of how to handle a mob.
Shit! I was lecturing on this problem in the 1970’s to fellow FBI, police and SS classmates.
Not what happened...Watch the video.
Are you saying the officer did not curse at someone in the crowd?
That's about as unprofessional and stupid as it gets...
This guy should consider selling pizzas or something else, before he blows a gasket.
But that kind of behavior was apparently perfectly fine in Bunkerville.
“Those ‘officers’ were pointing their weapons directly at civilians...”

The cops are civilians, too. Civilian law enforcement.
They pointed their weapons directly at CITIZENS.
Semantics understood, and you are correct where I am not accurate in my description, but my point stands and is valid, IMO.
Bingo bango..a whole heck of a lot of double speak going on in this thread. That cop was wayyy out of line and there is no excuse for his behavior. Any defense of it shows the true colors of some. When the BLM was doing this freepers were throwing conniptions, lets not have double standards here.
“good, his behavior was extremely unprofessional”
Well yes; but they have been the brunt of a huge amount of garbage I would assume. They have likely shown more restraint and borne more than many people could put up with.
1) I don't care who you are, or where your trigger finger is; if ou point a muzzle at me in earnest, I am going to respond with LETHAL force. The person who does that to me is either going to be dead, or trying very hard to get that way.
2) You may be egging on this policeman now, but when one of his buddies is drawing down on your kid because you post on FR (don't think Holder is not capable of ordering such), it will suddenly seem like not such a good idea that we have police who act like the standing armies that our Founders feared so much.
This individual has no business being a cop....Zip. End of story.
All police officers should be required to wear small cameras that document everything they say and do.
The cameras would be a boon to the honest cops...who are the majority.
This tech has become so inexpensive that a small device with multiple cameras can be created cheaply. This would totally eliminate the “The camera failed” excuse for missing camera data as only hard drives belonging to the IRS can have multiple hardware failures at the same time ;-/
The cameras data should be encrypted in such a way that only a court order can make the video watchable. This eliminates the argument that police would be under constant scrutiny that would hinder them in the performance of their duty. I would strongly oppose the decryption of ANY camera data that did not occur during the time period of an interaction with a suspect....no cop-to-cop chit-chat should ever be decrypted. I’m certain that defense counsel would endlessly seek the decryption of video that occurred outside of the time window of an actual arrest...they would seek to go on a fishing expedition to find anything that would make the officer look bad to a jury. Such a thing should never be allowed. No one should have to self sensor everything they say and do.
lets put cameras on the cops and restore honor to the profession and make the lives of honest cops a lot easier!
If so, why aren't police unions fighting to get the cameras?
Unions have always stood by bad-apple union members.
I don’t understand why they do this... nothing could convince me to shield someone who held a position of authority and was stupid, evil, incompetent..etc But them I’m an ordinary run-o-the-mill honest citizen and not a union goon.
The BLM pointed firearms at people in Nevada at the Bundy ranch, and told protestors at the corrals they would shoot them. Documentary reporter Dennis Michael Lynch filmed it and repeatedly asked the BLM guy if they would really shoot people, because he was stunned by that. I have not heard about any of the BLM guys being fired for that. I guess it is fine for Feds to aim firearms at white people and threaten them.
With all the s..., er, stuff, hurled their way, it would take the patience of Job not to react. One of their ranks came up a little short on patience and it will probably end his career. I feel sorry for him ... unless the stress exposed a real JBT and his forced retirement will save a dog or two. I hope Gov. Nixon is proud of what he accomplished.
Because police unions are all about power and could not care less about protecting honest cops.
How many BLM got suspended?
Another example that displays the hubris of our elected government.
Stay safe.....
