I’d go for the full ten years. Besides the theft, we also have lying to authorities, and also lying to the grieving survivors - and all three under color of authority.

Is his lawyer wearing a tablecloth? AJ got it for him from another car wreck. Some grandma was in the back seat repairing her family's antique 19th century bedspread when their car was struck head-on by an illegal alien. AJ thanked his lucky stars that grandma was ejected from the car, but the bedspread stayed in side.

I’m a CT-based first responder (”ambulance guy”) and resent your generalization. Having said that, this state has a problem with judges and DAs doling out light sentences. That guy qualifies for the throw-away-the-key treatment.

I hope the victim’s family is waiting for him when he gets out of prison. I would be. The way justice has deteriorated in this country, they may be forced to seek professional assistance.
