THE beheading of American journalist, James Foley, at the hands of ISIS militants shocked the world but forensic experts have revealed the video was probably staged, with the murder happening off camera.
The UK Times reported that an international forensic science company, which has worked for police forces across Britain, said there is no question Foley was beheaded but that camera trickery and post-production techniques look to have been used.
“I think it has been staged,” said one expert in visual forensics, after he was commissioned by The UK Times to examine the footage.
“My feeling is that the execution may have happened after the camera was stopped.”
Aymenn al-Tamimi, a fellow at the Middle East Forum think-tank, said over the years ISIS militants have improved the production quality of their videos.
The analysis by experts has highlighted a number of inconsistencies that could suggest that the beheading of Foley, which was seen on the video, was not his actual death.

Even the Saudis, Iran and other Islamic countries are feeling fear....This is not supposed to happen to them! Only to non believers and western countries!

I suggest just capturing as many as can be, alive, and simply tying them up and putting them in a pen with a number of hogs. The hogs know what to do...

I like good ol’ Saddam’s feet first into the wood chipper myself. These goat humpers seem to like sawing some helpless guys’s neck, so let’s see how it feels to them to be sawed up!
I saw the first part of it in which the knife was against his neck. Then it quickly cut to the graphic photo, so the entire decapitation wasn’t seen.
I still say it was real even though the entire beheading wasn’t shown. I don’t see how that could have been staged.
Didn’t see the beheading so can’t comment on that but the phrasing in the letter doesn’t sound American. Maybe the Danish guy didn’t memorize it word for word or Foley was trying to get a secret message out.
I didn’t watch it either because I got better things to do, but a comment on youtube was very informative:
1) Foley showed no sign of any expected negative emotion: fear, apprehension, nervousness, regret, sadness, panic, etc. as he was prepared for execution
2) He did not flinch when the knife was pressed against his neck. How is that possible without the certain knowledge that nothing was going to happen??
3) The video ended prematurely - before his head was decapitated. Why? Because they didn’t want to offend our sensibilities? C’mon. And anyway, that never stopped the terrorists before.
I think Foley is still alive. He was an Islamist symp. According to sources, he last statement was an anti US screed. If he knew he was going to dive anyway, why the hate speech? Or, he is dead but didn’t think his friends were actually going to kill him - that’s why he’s so calm before the “execution”
I’m sure it was very important to Foley that people know exactly when he was beheaded, at the time of the video or not.
Dead is dead.
And Jim, he’s dead.

Yeah, I had the same thought. Why it would have gone down that way I don't know, but there's a lot of possibilities. These people are not exactly rational.
