The French government was dissolved Monday amid turmoil among top ministers.

President Francois Hollande asked Prime Minister Manuel Valls to form a new government, which will be announced Tuesday...

"The crisis in the heart of the government is clear, and it promises to be bloody," reported Le Figaro, a right-leaning national newspaper.

Well they will shortly adopt the flag of Hamas as their new national flag and fly it high.

“Keep an eye on Marine LePen. She is coming on strong. Between the crappy economy and the muzzie invasion, the French have about lost patience. “Aux barricades! A bas les aristos!”

Uh, I wouldn’t count much on Le Pen - the “right” in France is, for the most part, socialist lite. They’re focused mostly on social, immigration and cultural issues. They’re not willing to go free market either.

She’s not going to move the button much on taxes, regulation and spending. The French are too far gone for that and, like the US, it will take a full economic collapse for the electorate to seriously consider true economic reform.

It won’t EVER die. In fact I believe world-wide communism is the inevitable long term future. Eventually the state will be able to totally control its citizens. Think 1984. The state will ruthlessly put down any dissent. People will essentially become REAL slaves of the state. Hopefully that will happen long after I am gone.

On that happy note... have a nice pleasant day.

Except that we are trending the opposite way. States are increasingly losing control (Bundy Ranch and Fergauson here). The NSA has a massive worldwide listening capability, and yet has issues noticing things like ISIS. The FedGov can’t even enforce regulations in states that refuse to play ball (Texas) and they are importing massive amounts of illegal immigrants who do not have the basic idea of what the rules are, yet alone who does the enforcement.

If I had to bet, we are on the long slide to a dark age. I expect the large countries of today to break up into smaller cultural similar nations like what happened in the Balkans.

So France is going to split three ways. Germany will go back to a bunch of smaller states, and Italy will fragment. Large states and absolute terror states only work until the people stop playing along. By the looks of things, they are doing that.

And yet, if someone remotely pro-free market got in and tried to cut spending and reduce taxes and regulation, there would be riots and they'd be booted out in a week. The French people are besotted with Welfare State Socialism just like the rest of the Western population; even moreso. They aren't angry at Hollande. They are angry that they can't get something for nothing -- have a productive economy while having the productive rich hand them a bunch of cash so they can live the good life too.

You can substitute "Americans" for "French" and lose nothing in the translation.

I’m reading that a tour bus of elderly German women made an unexpected bathroom stop in Paris and that’s why the government fled.

I think we’re watching the state collapse on itself. It’s just too big to be governed effectively.

As far as state collapsing on itself - I see no evidence of that. I see greater state control, snooping and harassment. I also see no mass resistance to the state taking over. Half the population is on welfare. I see no shift to conservatism. I see greater liberalism in the population particularly in young generations. We are dinosaurs that will die out.

I do think there will huge unrest, chaos etc in the near term but longer term I see one huge state controlling everything. Inevitable once a country is strong enough to take over and subjugate everyone else. We should fight like hell to delay it but what I describe is a real threat and I see nothing in 1984 that won’t come true

I thought Sarkozy for the most part was in the conservative mold. Have to admit, he has one hot French wife.... :-)
