Dem Senator Calls For Boycott Of Burger King, Tells Consumers To Eat At Wendy’s
CBS/AssPress ^ | Aug 26, 2014

Burger King says it struck a deal to buy Tim Hortons Inc. for about $11 billion, a move that creates the world’s third-largest fast-food company and could accelerate the international expansion of the Canadian coffee and doughnut chain.

The corporate headquarters of the new company will be in Canada. The two brands will continue to be run as stand-alone chains, with Burger King still operating out of Miami.

Some analysts have suggested that Canada’s lower tax rates stand to benefit Burger King over time. But Burger King said that’s the not main motivation for the deal.

Sen. Sherrod Brown, D-Ohio, is calling for a boycott of Burger King.... Brown called for a creation of a global minimum tax rate.

“We need an immediate fix to forestall a flood of these dangerous inversions and a long term solution that lowers corporate tax rates while instituting a country-by-country global minimum tax,” Brown added.

Regarding the boycott, I would suspect the people that eat at Burger King have no clue about the merger and it’s effects

Google "Charles Cunningham Boycott "...

No, if Rush Limbaugh can be an Apple Computer fanatic, there is absolutely zero chance that there will be any significant loss of business to Burger King because of politics.

You could always eat at Chick-fil-a!

Yep. I quit BK because of their, "rainbow whopper/Be Your Way" advertising support for, "gay rights". I don't care where they HQ, I'm taking their advice and being my way by not spending my money there.

Just 'nationalize' it.

You know you want to.

I’ll eat there because:

The millions they save will buy better ingredients
They will pay workers more and get better service
The buildings will be nicer because the savings can be used for better cleaning services

Gee - a major corporation is seeking to minimize its tax load and Marxist legislators object.

What next!

Good old Uncle Warren.

He’s laughing his a$$ off right now.

If he’s feeling froggy enough to do this, and doesn’t think the wind’s going to shift on his XL Pipeline never happening (He owns BNSF, and he owns a company that makes rail cars that haul it), then he must have powerful goods on HRH King Obama, and his pack of jesters.

And the King replied, to one of his advisers upon hearing the news about Buffett, “Hey, the Queen Michelle’s can is as big as a boxcar. Funny how life’s coincidences crop up.”

Then he teed it up for the 5th hole.

Any other issues aside, why would anyone go to BK when there is a Wendy’s nearby?

What is a good Liberal/Democrat to do?
On one hand Burger Queen caters and bows down to the homosexuals and on the other hand Burger King tries to avoid PAYING ITS FAIR SHARE OF TAXES!!!!!!

The governor of Ohio on 1974 to 1981 was the biggest investor in Wendy’

That would have been Jim Rhodes. And he was a Republican. Was also Governor when I was born there in the early 60's.

Burger King has posted on their Facebook page that “we’re not moving to Canada!”

And told the Huffington Post that this deal “is not being done to avoid taxes”.

I guess that should settle it for the Low Info crowd.

Sherrod Brown ought to thankful that they didn’t choose Poland, The Czech Republic, or Ireland with their respective Corp Tax rates of 19%, 19% and 12.5%....

I don’t care if he WAS a republican. The burgers still sucked. We’d pick them up three times a day, giv’em to our prisoners and THEY would bitch.
