Don’t leave out the Jordanians. The whole “state of war” thing between them was, for years, known to be a “wink and a nod” thing and there was active cooperation behind the scenes.
Saudi Arabia knows that ISIS is a dagger pointed right at them, given Mecca and Medina. I’m guessing they want a lot more interaction with the Mossad and IDF and know that such will inevitably see the light of day. Better to have it be clean than to explode as a scandal.
The annual pilgrimage to the Hajj is beginning of October.
Is that specific to Sunni’s or Shiite’s? Or, is it a combined affair?
Faisal saying this is pretty big. Historic. This is the best thing that has happened in foreign affairs in 10 years.
Iran/Syria is the problem.
The Saudi’s are on the same side as Israel.
Have been for sometime.
Their people, not so much.
“Clearly Israel, the Saudis and Egyptians have forged military ties behind Obamas back, for their own mutual survival against ISIS, and their ally Obama.”
The Jordanians also. And do not be suprised that Israel Generals and Syrian Generals talk. They all understand the game. And they understand that leaders are nuts.
I believe the Muslims in those nations know Obama is from a Muslim sperm daddy from an Indonesia/Java named Muhammed Subuh. Mama Stanley Ann had very interesting sojourns there. Mama wanted to make sure boy Obama would never forget his roots even if hidden from USA publicity. It was the power of POTUSA that allowed Obama to bury his true family history by executive order.
The Saudis are afraid of Iran. If they don’t team up with Israel they might lose their little kingdom...Sauds got lots of stuff - and not many friends...
The world’s people - people who once counted on the United States to protect them - are looking around for new boyfriends - new protectors... anyone... maybe the pimp down the street... maybe someone they treated badly in the past who might ‘forgive’ them...
Japan and South Korea wonder too... Who they can team up with to defend themselves against China. And Eastern Europe? Lots of hand wringing... why oh why did they trust the United States?
Thanks Democrats. Thanks for not ONLY screwing over the United States, but for screwing over the whole world.
crazy moosie turds will off this guy real quick.
Could be a trap. I don’t trust them.
Apparently the UAE as well.
It’s a bird!
It’s a plane!
No, it’s a formation
of flying pigs!
LOL< this will put a dent in the “Saudi Arabia is the worst enemy of the U. S. and Israel” mantra.
Damn...
So....a prominent Saudi has decided that, after sixty-five years of the Arab world trying & failing to wipe out the Jewish state, that it’s time to declare,
“If you can’t beat ‘em, join ‘em!”
Better than “Allahu Akbar!!!”, I suppose.
The best book I have read in the last year is Steven Pressberg’s The Lions Gate, a history of the Six Day War.
http://www.amazon.com/The-Lions-Gate-Front-Lines/dp/1595230912
And if that isn’t amazing enough, check out the Yom Kippur war.
I’ll check out “The Lion’s Gate” which IIRC refers to one of the ancient gates of the Old City of Jerusalem.
Go to youtube for classic Six Day War documentaries. The best ones show how Gamel Abdel Nasser whipped up the Egyptian masses into war furor, then realized Soviet provided intelligence was wrong, and that he was headed toward disaster but couldn’t recall his forces.
True. Israel’s early wars were existential for Israelis but not the Arabs. Fear really concentrates the mind. LOL
